Can anyone here tell m emore about the different movement types Tissot uses in their beautifull pieces?
I know they used Lemania in the ''70's, but do they still use those?
Or can someone provide me a link where to search for my self?

Hi,
ETA and Valjoux oin their chronographs. I think the Tissot is very good value for money and ther movements are the same as those used by many companies with watches costing 20 times the price.

I really like those vintage Tissot Navigator's..
Some of them carry the Lemania movement.
Does anybody has pictures of those old ones?

Their website indicates that they use the ETA 2824 in the non-chronos and the Valjoux 7750 in the chronos, but I don't see any other movements listed. The interesting thing is that the LeLocle I saw in a local store the other day had a sapphire display back. Not bad for a watch that costs less than $400. ;-)

Lemania movements are all discontinued or being discontinued. You generally can only find them on current limited editions from various watch companies, such as Sinn and Tutima, and in older watches being sold. They sell out fast, and the prices are shooting up, as collector's scramble to grab the last ones.

Yes as far as I know, ETA and Valjoux movements, not sure about earlier models though. That's the reason that I own two Tissots and my wife owns one, great value for the dollar. There are watches on the market costing 2 to 3 thousand dollars that just use ETA 2824-2 movements that MAY or may NOT be modified and they usually do not say to what extent. To me this is like paying the price for a Porsche 911 Turbo but getting one with a VW Beetle engine in it.:-( BUT you can buy a Tissot with the SAME movement for less than a grand.:-!

ETA mvmnts are used!! Valjoux is part of ETA<which belongs to SWatch group which in turn owns Tissot!! The 28824 and (probably) the 2836 and the valjoux 7750 are used! I am not sure about the 2892 with Dubois Dupraz module for the Chronos! Yes, There is a place where you can veiw the different ETA mvmnts, probably on this greater site! All tissots have saphire crystals!

There is one seaster chrono that has a 1873 lemania and another has the 1340 selfwinding movement, check in this Omega thread http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=7388. There was also the lemania 1276-1281 used in the navigator as far as I can remember.
