I can only afford to own a few watches at a time. Right now, the ONLY watches I own (believe it or not) is the Universal Geneve AeroCompax and 2002 Mara SAR.

I plan on being in a buying position when Glycine releases new watches at Basil I'm hoping/wishing for a new SST chronograph model :-)

Here's a 24-hour face that you won't see very often. As a matter of fact, you'll probably never see one quite this clean. Got it, amazingly, off eBay, and yes, the strap is original issue.

Elgin 24-hour military watch, issued 1945, Spec # 94-27834-B, US Army Air Force, Type A-11, with an immaculate Elgin 685 in it, Grade 539, Dial 1677 and with Ordnaumber W33-038gc 6600.

It's one of the nicest watches I own. :-)

A bunch of great watches there Dennis. I'd hate to have had to get rid of any of them.

How do you like the Navigator? I had considered getting one for a beater, but on another forum I read some unfavorable reviews about the acrylic bodied watches' durability. I would think your stainless version would be better. I'm hoping to instead get one of the watches sold by WCT that is, I believe, and O&W watch with the Marathon tritium face.

Hi Steve,

The steel cased Navs I've owned have been really nice...
I've owned an original 1991, a Yao-dialed 1991, a hyunsuk-modified 1991 with auto movement, and a 1986 Adanac.
They were all very tough. No problems. The screw down crowns made them especially water resistant.
I've also heard about issues regarding the composite cased navs.
I do like the new composite with date (I'm a big fan of date and day/date displays...maybe why I never kept any of the Navs).
If you like the case design, I'd consider getting one of the new MKII MMT Blackwaters.
I've also owned a WCT M16, and it's not a bad choice either. Howard is great to deal with.
