Any thoughts on the Hamilton X-Wind. I saw the watch and love it. Just wondering about spending $1000 (650 on ebay) for a hamilton. Is it good quality etc....

The Hamiltons are usually considered excellent value-for-money.

Whether the Crosswind is overdone or not as a design is for everyone to decide. ;-)

The X-Wind is a very nice watch. I tried one on and liked it. It is a large watch and thick, but a very solid well built watch. For me, the cross wind measurement is useless, but other than that a very cool watch.

I bought an x-wind this time last year, and I am just amazed at the quality and look of the watch. My collection consists of Tag, Omega, Rolex ad Breitling. My everday watch is a Navitmer World. I am a pretty extensive collector and I must say for the money Hamilton is the best quality watch you can buy today. I put the craftmanship and performance against my Breitlings any day. I am pretty amazed that the Hamiltons are not in the mid 2000 range. I did add a Hamilon Jazzmaster Maestro to my collection as well and I am just as impressed. The x-wind is a large watch but looks great on your wrist. I have had more compliments on this watch than all my others. I wouldnt be suprised if they price of the higher end hamiltons shoot up (if the economy allows it). Again for the money you are not going to find a better timepiece.

KUDOS to Swatch and Hamilton for making such great timepieces at an affordable price.
