this is just a generic watch question, though. Watches that display the number for the date...how do they work? What I mean is, some months have 29 days, some have 30 days, some 31...does the watch just cycle from 1 to 31 and expect the user to correct it if the current month doesn't have that many days?

Some watches have both the month and day displayed...are those watches able to correctly handle months that have a differing number of days in them?

Yeah, date watches show the date to 31 every month, you have to correct them by hand. There are even a lot Germasian watches out there now that have a big-date which will show the date til 39 :-) O|

Some watches are "perpetual calendar" models that correct for months with an odd number of days.
These can be expensive in automatic versions.
