hey everyone out the other day and my wife found this watch for under $5 at the local thrift store she bought it and when she showed me i was excited found out its from around 54to56 sr#9414008 thats all i know looks great and my wife loves it so any other info would be great

No I'd say it's earlier (1946 or so ). The serial number on the movement is the important one. The case serial number is generally meaningless.

thankz ray i found a site with sn#but wasnt sure ? where are the #on the movement ialso passed up some early wittnaur watches as my wife picked out some other things and i would have left spending about 75$$ they were priced higher than the longines but they were all ladies watches and i was dissapointed when i got home they were pretty nice watches it works and is in good condition crystal needs polishing and oil but i think my wife got a good score thanks again ray and look forward to posting more

I can see the serial number on the movement although it was upside down in the picture. It's 71XXXXX and it's on the train bridge just below the manufacturer's name.
You should get the watch serviced as Longines is a good quality make and it's going to need it if your wife plans on using it.

yes indeed now i see the #7169790 on move ment thanks for the help an now no were to look this was my wifes 10 watch so she is gettin a good eye for good quality vintage pieces and her collections catching up to mine im at about 50 vintage pieces so thanks again
