Hmm - I think if i worked at customs i'd hang onto it for a while too! ;-)

But seriously, you really are having an agonising wait with this one aren't you! Fingers crossed for this week, it looks like you've got plenty to look forward too, i'm sure you'll love it!

i got the verbal estimate this afternoon......gulp! Actually, i think it could have been a lot worse. I am particularly fond on the SM calendar design, I am sure STS will do a fine job and you're right, the 2 year guarantee is not to be sniffed at! The Calenders C355 and C353 are not particularly common these days, so I'm happy to pay for a bit of TLC........

....... but six weeks! argh...... i just don't do patient!

Cheers for now,
Colin

You have to love the simple, understated elegance of those old DeVilles. It's always nice to have it in the family, too.
Thanks much for sharing and do stop by often :-!

Thanks, I do love the simple design it has, and for variation, sometimes I put a black leather strap on it

I just got 3 estimates.....they were very reasonable....if you've never visited in person they actually have a small collection of vintage Omegas for you to look at. I visited in person and had 3 estimates within 30 minutes.!

Hope it works out ok.

Thanks Dunk - I am hopeful - I have had good reports of the place. I would love to turn up in person actually - sadly I'm in the North-West and don't get down that way very often.

Are you going ahead with your 3? (I hope they dont slow mine down!! lol)

Not yet Colin...you are ahead of me...I will likely go ahead with one, a vintage pocket chronometer that's worth spending the money on. I am waiting a further estimate on that. They were telling me they receive 400 watches a week for estimates/repair!!

If you visit you can always spend some time at Southend on Sea just down the road.
