I have recently been introduced to your watch line throught the movie Sahara. I have a couple of questions before I purchase my first Doxa.

1.I read a thread about the new PVD Sharkhunter and Searamblers that are coming out. What is PVD and how does that affect the look of the watch?

2.I read o your website that you no longer carried parts for people with the old vintage Doxa Subs, how do I know if I buy one now that 30 years down the road, you will still make parts ie the bezel, band etc for my watch?

3.I wanted to know if a Doxa Sub 1000 was on the horizon that was larger than the 750 and possibly would be a certified chronometer as well?

4.Once you purchase a model and a new model is introduced, does the value of the previous model go up over time?:-D

Hi, thank you for your questions, here are the answers

1.I read a thread about the new PVD Sharkhunter and Searamblers that are coming out. What is PVD and how does that affect the look of the watch? the watch case and the bracelet are black coated, PVD stands for Physical Vapour Deposition coating

2.I read o your website that you no longer carried parts for people with the old vintage Doxa Subs, how do I know if I buy one now that 30 years down the road, you will still make parts ie the bezel, band etc for my watch? I wont be concerned about parts availability because all movement parts are still in stock and this is what wears out most, a new bracelet is also available and the case and bezels will be remanufactured soon. But at this point I have to mention that in the watch industry, the normal supply of spare parts must be guaranteed for 10 years and anything beyond 10 years is excellent.

3.I wanted to know if a Doxa Sub 1000 was on the horizon that was larger than the 750 and possibly would be a certified chronometer as well? NO

4.Once you purchase a model and a new model is introduced, does the value of the previous model go up over time? the past 5 years has shown that every model that was sold out instantly increased in value, let ebay speak for this fact but there is no guarantee on behalf of DOXA for this phenomenon which is known to be very uncommon in the watch business, only Rolex® and very few models of 2-3 other brands share this phenomenon with DOXA.

But let me add that I do not recommend buying a watch only for this reason, you buy a watch because you like it and you want to wear it, the value increase is a secondary feature. If you are strictly after value increase, then a wirst watch is the wrong investment. You are better off investing in stocks.
