Is there really a special affinity among afficionados for the white face and blue hands? That' s what I want...and when I see them rarely come up FS...they disappear. Whereas the black face or silver face stick around.
I did not know these were particularly "special" until I decided I like it and tried to buy one on the used market.
What am I missing ....if anything?

I don't know Hap, it's hard to explain. But there is just something about a watch with a white dial. I wouldn't want a bunch of them, but every collection should have one. - David

My take is that watches with white dials are more appealing to the eye in a dress watch then a black dial. I could go either way personally.

10 years ago, 90% of every watch sold had a white dial.
Black is it today.
Methinks that one day, given how so many vintage are being refinished with black dials, those who hung on to their vintage watches with the original white dials will do well.
Same with all those that Mickey Moused their 214 Accutrons to look like Spaceviews. The original plain dials will be rare and sought after.
Only negative - could all be after I die.
