Arrived home yesterday to find that my home had been broken into and as you
may guess the scum bag made off with some watches :-| Along with some other misc. jewelery items. The officer said that we've zero chance of rcovering anything but because the watches that were taken were not exactly "common"
there is some hope. Anyway here is what was lost with regards to watches
Panerai PAM00104
Omega Seamaster 007 LE
Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor DualMatic
Dubey & Shaldendrand Sonnerie GMT
Gevril GV2 Sport watch
Omega Speedmaster Triple Date
So if anyone comes accross a sales listing for any of these please take the time to notify me. I'm not going to include and serial numbers at this time as I will take care of that detail myself. The Gevril,Panerai, Speedmaster, Dubey, and 007 would all be without boxes Below are some pics:

That really sucks. I hope you recover them or that at the very least your homeowner's insurance covers their loss.

That is just sickening news....I have been considering getting a "gun safe" for our valuables....I don't even have what we'd consider here to be high end watches like yours. I am really sorry man...I gotta go look at gun safes now.

Boy thats a real shame Don.
Beautiful watches too.
Can they notify area pawnshops?

Man, I feel bad for you Don. It's a dirty shame, and the real pity is that the cretins probably don't even realize what they've got. They'll probably "dispose" of them for a measly couple of hundred bucks.O|
I'll keep my eyes open on the sales fora on the off chance that they surface there.

My gun safe is where I keep mine if I'm going out for any length of time.

Keep an eye out on eBay also. They're very likely to end up there.

Certainly the buglary is a disheartening and disturbing intrusion on your privacy and sense of security. :-| The good news is that no one was injured, and my assumption is that pieces of that quality were on a Jewelry rider to your homeowners policy!

Holy Crap!
That just REALLY blows:-( . Those were some fine timepieces. I'll keep my eyes peeled on ebay as well.
Why would the police say it would be harder to recover? Those were rather exclusive pieces, I would think a pawnshop wouldn't run across to many pannies or JLC's.

Sorry to hear of the Break-in at your home and loss of Your Timepieces Don:-( Unfortunately Thieves target a neighborhood and rarely single out a individual Home, unless someone knew of Your Expensive Watch Collection :-| I Doubt they will ever see e-bay and will be Fenced or Traded for Drugs :-( Your Local PD should have Knowledge of any other Burglaries in your Area....I Hope You Will Recover your Loss or at Least be able to Replace them with Insurance $......The Bright side is no One from your Family was Home and are Safe and Sound :-) Best of Luck Buddy :-)

So sorry to hear of your loss, thankfully you weren't hurt. I can not even imagine what that would feel like.
I also like BrainS' way of thinking; too bad you couldn't of caught the little bastard and pumped a couple of rounds into his kneecaps. Watches are replaceable, kneecaps are not!

If caught, you might also put them in a car that Ted Kennedy is driving! That would also serve the purpose of testing water resistance! :-!
KenC
February 19th, 2006, 02:26
Letting them ride with Kennedy would mean certain "hiccup" death!! ;-)
John Kerry would wound himself to get another Purple Heart B-) , Bush would need help finding the trigger on the gun.. :-S ,
..but "Quick Draw" Cheney only wounded the guy! Sort of like the Lone Ranger shooting the gun out of his hand.., plus who can blame him for hunting Dan Quail… :-D
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D ........and let us not forget that the Lone Ranger was one of the "good guys"...white hat........white horse and all! :-!

Bummer.
I hope you had 'Specific Loss Riders" with your Insurance.
I've seen one of them out west here, but I'm sure its not yours.

The Gevril was sold but stolen before payment was received therefore I returned
the money to the buyer. And I think everyone knows that TTSubforMe is me. And that watch was listed before the robbery as well. Hope this clears up the apparent confusion.

No Don the scam would be, you sell your 18,800$ watch lot for 12g's or so and then hook the insurance ppl for 3!
Genius right?
Errr...no wait, that still wouldn't work would it?
All poor jokes aside Don, that's a damn shame what happened to you.
I don't have anywhere NEAR as nice watches as you lost and I'd be despondent if they were stolen.

You have NO idea. I've thought about this over and over and how I might feel if and when this would happen. And I'll simply say this, I was not prepared! Since last week I have made several changes to my Insurance Policy and a few more things around the house to prevent such a large loss in the future. Most of which I've just been putting off because I truely thought "that sort of thing doesn't happen in this nieborhood".
Well looks as if I coujdn't have been more wrong and it a lesson I wont soon forget!
