question about cockpit/chrono cockpit

hi, i have a Chronomat and Colt GMT, and now i'm quite interest in the new Cockpit/Chrono Cockpit model. but have a few questions:

1 what mechanic do they run? are they much different?
2 why chrono cockpit (39mm) is smaller than cockpit (41.5 mm) in size?

do you guys think it will worth invest on one of this model?

1. The Chrono Cockpit has a Breitling Caliber 13 self winding movement which should be based on the Valjoux 7750 with a 39mm diameter.

The Cockpit has a Breitling Caliber 49 self winding movement (not sure which movement this is based on) with a 41mm diameter

The 39mm is a little small for my taste but then again I like big watches.
