How many were made? What is the list price? Does Breitling make any other Black Steel watches? Is it PVD or some other process? Any more pictures? Any specs or other info would be welcomed.
Thanks!

I've seen one at an AD and it looked mean. No disrespect to the photo's they are superb but it looks so different under the dealers display lights....it just screams "buy me if you're hard enough".
Best regards

Hiya, not wanting to hijack this good thread but.
There are 2000 pieces worldwide. It's made from carbonized Steel, not coated. There is NOT going to be a black steel bracelet made. UK list is around £2970.
BUT it's awfully awfully nice.
Mine is No 290 of 2000 I call it BORG. :-!:-d:-sb-)

Sorry to spoil that for you... but it IS actually coated - quite decent though (DLC - diamond-like carbon). I've phoned Breitling and had this confirmed. The coating is probably the reason because they don't make a Blacksteel bracelet... it'd simply look awful after some time.
First I didn't wanna buy it because of that fact, but there came a point where I couldn't resist anymore...;-)
Btw... here's another pic:

Breitligs official take on the steel goes as follows...."Made from a blackened steel material achieved by an ultra-resistant carbon based treatment."
So coated or in the smelting?
Who cares! It's tough! Even just to look at!

Nice Blacksteel, Saw one in person at a AD and it looks cool, but personally cannot see myself wearing one because I find it more suiting to the younger crowd...

That is an evil looking watch - great pickup! Do those also come in a matching steel band?

The official text was the reason for me to call them up. I wanted to know what "treatment" it would be...
They confirmed that it was a coating, and since it's carbon based it has to be a DLC coating.
