I have a ivory Soarway diver that I love. It's a great watch that I would recommend without hesitation.

My question is:

When I have to wind it:
I unscrew the crown and try to wind it but it immediatly starts screwing down. I try the first stop, but that is for the date change. (CCW) Second, of course is the time change. On all my othe watches you have to push the crown in (spring action) and then screw down. I can get the watch running fine, I just have to be careful not to let it screw down. In other words, very short rotations back and forth. But it always feels like it's catching.

Is this normal on Kobolds?

It's not normal on my Phantom, but I do find, that once it is unscrewed, a little jiggle will make it release from the last thread, thereby allowing me to wind it. Try pulling the crown all the way out 1st, then back in. Release it, then wind it. See if that works...

Once you unscrew the crown, give it a careful/slow 1/8 turn CW and you'll feel it un-catch from the threads as the spring pops it out. Then you can wind, etc.

It could be that the spring is a little weak/worn on yours, because I had not problem with mine. Either that, or you are pushing in when you turn the crown, which is pretty likely.

When the crown is unscrewed and free of the threads, can you feel the spring by gently pushing in on the crown? I could easily feel it on my Soarway, and it's quite strong on my Seal.

Cheers,
Daniel

I can feel it let go but there no spring action. I'm not pushing in when I try to screw it in. Feels like there is no spring at all. Thats the problem.

First thing Monday. It's been that way since day one. Called in on it and was told it was normal. May be some mis-communication.
