I'm going to Europe at the end of the month. Anyone out there know of any places/countries where I might find some good deals on a new GMT Master? Where is the dollar strong? Where are the taxes cheap? Where can bargains be had? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Earlier in the year Switzerland was not to bad for the dollar. The Euro is a little bad right now. The English Pound will make you cry!:-(

You do get a tax rebate in any of the EU countries, and you can skirt customs
when you re-enter the US (I have heard;-)).

Hi There,

If you go to Denmark you will able to get a good price.
For instance, the retail price for a GMT II is approx 5000 dollars at an AD. BUT - as you leave Denmark you will be able to get TAX refund in the Airport as you leave the country. Tax'es are 25% in Denmark - that means that the price after refund of taxes will be approximately 3800 dollars. This is well below the retail price in the US;-) .

Good luck,
Esben

The GMT-Master II is 4075 Euro in The Netherlands. You will get 19% tax return. Better go to Denmark :-)

Hi,

The "best of the best "place in Europe to buy a ROLEX (or an other brand) is ANDORA (Principauté d'Andore), in the North of Spain.
The price of the watches are from 25 to 30% lower than in the other countries of Europe.
I hope it will help.
Good luck.
MAKI.

Well, Wempe is the first place to go (20 shops in Germany), see www.wempe.de.

Berlin: Axel Sedlatzek, Rene Kern, Bucherer, Linckersdorff (excellent vinatage Rolex watches)
Bonn: Juwelier Toussaint
Düsseldorf: Rene Kern
Stuttgart: Haeffner
München: Huber

I'll let you know a watch heaven- Malaysia and Singapore. It is all duty free. You should plan to come over some day. The rates are USD1=Malaysian Ringgit3.80, USD1=S$1.70 (all approximate). ;-)
