Why do some of you say the PO45 wears smaller than the size would
indicate?

Is it because the "45.5" is the size of the case where as the bezel
is actually 42mm diameter thereby giving the watch a slightly smaller
presence?

Also, is the lug tip to lug tip distance difference between the 45 and
the 42 really only 2mm? I've found the PO42 has 48mm lug tip to
lug tip and the PO45.5 lug tip to lug tip is 50mm or so...

Thanks!

I don't have a 45.5 but I find my 42 wears small because it's not all dial. The bezel is also separated by the concentric silver ring which gives everything a nice, balanced modern proportion.

I will try to help you and will be corrected if I am wrong. I think some meant that when you are wearing a 45mm PO on a strap it tends to fit smaller than wearing it with the bracelet.

The lug WIDTH for the 42mm PO is 20mm and the 45mm PO is 22mm. Was that what you were referring to?

Thanks!Thats an excellent question. I wear the 45.5, my wrist isn't huge and the watch does for some reason wear smaller than it is. I have no idea why. I always thought because the bracelet is a little wider that it makes the case appear smaller. maybe it is the fit and finish of it.

I have to say that before I tried on the PO i was sure that I would want the 42mm.

When I tried the 42 on I found it wore smaller than the 41mm SMP! The 45 is more like a 44 mm watch. I think it is due to the following reasons

1. The bezel does not extend to the edge of the case. This means the actual diameter of the face is less than the 45.5mm.
2. The twisted lugs also do not make the size seem so pronouced
3. The silver ring around the bezel makes the face look smaller
4. The thickness makes it seem smaller. If you compare a SMP chrono and a normal SMP you will see what I mean.

If you haven't got one go and get it. You won't regret it.

I think the PO's styling and high class finish are best suited to the 45mm. That is my opinoin and I am sure many will disagree. Like I said, I swore I would get the 42mm until I tried both on.

JB,

I'm talking about lug tip to lug tip distance.. top to bottom.. not the width
of the strap.

Tks.

I think that also partially depends on the shape of your wrist too besides the size of your wrist.

I don't have detailed specs of the 45.5, but when I compare my 42 with my 2055.80 (41), the 2055.80 looks bigger on my wrist.
That's because...

1). Bezel diameter
42 PO : 39.8mm
41 SeMP : 40.8mm

2). Width + Crown
42 PO : 44.5mm
41 SeMP : 45.7mm

I agree with Ferrari..
Since wearing mine for the last 2 days it doesnt seem as big anymore.
Then last night i was comparing the Bracelet size to my Carrera and i think the thicker Bracelet also keeps the Face looking smaller .

But all in all its a great fit for my 7.3inch wrist.

It's comfortable so it doesn't feel big.

42 PO : 44.5mm
41 SeMP : 45.7mm

Hiro,

Wow, this is surprising, I didn't know that the 41 semp was 1mm wider...
even little measurements like this can make a difference.

Tks.

Oh ya, I've seen those specs in a review, tks Hiro.
See.. your eyes are drawn to the bezel or the case though?
I'm guessing the bezel.. hence why the Semp looks slightly bigger
than the PO... OH.. also... the Semp is THINNER.. which makes
it feel a little bigger ya?

I tried on the 2254.50 and it fit flush to my wrist.. perfect size.

I tried on the 2254.50 and it fit flush to my wrist.. perfect size.I really like the SeMP case. It fits on my wrist very comfortably. My Po also fits on my wrist very comfortably, so I try wearing my PO and the 2055.80 (electric blue) alternately every 24 hours lol!
Actually, that works great for me since I don't have a winder.:-d

You have 2... your left wrist and your right wrist. =D

Btw, I think you asked about SpMP.. did you ever decide on that one?

The PO looks better on your wrist Hiro even if the other wears better. Of course I'm biased since I have the same PO. Haven't taken it off the rubber yet. Simply stunning and sporty. b-)

Jimmy, I mean...OK today I'm wearing the PO, so tomorrow I'll be wearing Electric blue and the day after tomorrow I'll be wearing the PO again. So, one watch at a time.

As for the Speedy, yea I'll get one for sure, but as that's my grail, I can wait for a while. The Tutima Pacific is incoming in a few days.;-) And then, I might look for a British MoD 30T2 or late 60's Breitling Top Time.

Actually, I think so too. I think that's because of its overall case design. ;-)

Will you get that rubbish "I just scratched my watch by putting on my coat" hesalite speedy or the the version that most would prefer if it wasn't what the astronauts wore?

My first Omega was the Reduced which I bought about 15 years ago. I bought it just because I liked the look.
So, I kind of miss it. Sort of sentimental value....But, this time I would go with a used Pro as the MSRP of the reduced w/discount is about the same as the average used price of the Pro.

How did the hesalite hold up on your reduced?

Ferrari's spot on |> I agree totally compare the 45 against a 42 and if you have the right shaped wrist there is no contest IMO

Do you guys wear the 45 in bracelet or rubber?

It's sort of strange, the 42mm looks small but the 45mm looks big. Could be that I'm just used to 44mm watches and the 1.5mm extra is a big difference.

I had it on a bracelet but then switched it to Mesh. The mesh is not as thick and a bit lighter. It gives the watch a more retro look.

However, they are both great

I Wear both, I also have a brown croc with deployment, bracelet is the most comfortable for me and would get my vote if I could only have one.
