View Full Version : Paypal Issue

Greetings,

Since I am new to Paypal, I have now received one of Paypal's famous "Limited Account Access" notifications, meaning I can't receive or send funds. Everything has been resolved, such as my identity, banking information, supplier info (Fricker), etc. The only thing that needs to be verified is shipping information, meaning the customer has to receive the watch before they can lift/resolve the "Limited Account Access".

I was on the phone with Paypal for the longest time trying to resolve this. Their suggestion was for me to refund all the money to the customer, until I receive the watches, but I think that will turn into a mess.

Would you as the customer be ok with sending a check/money order for the remaining balance of $600?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Teddyhanna

Hi Ted,

Thank you :-!

I appreciate your feedback and always good spirit :-)

Poul,

How about getting set up with a merchant service and your own credit card terminal?

Wow that IS a mess Poul.
Happy to accomodate if needed but hopefully it can be straightened out before the watches are ready.
If only to cut down on "check-clearing" time.

Poul,

Check is preferred to money order. Why can't I just send the money to your email address via Paypal in lieu of your website? This has worked for me in the past. May have to add Paypal fees on this, can't remember.

No problem, just give us a few days notice if you want the check (some of us transfer funds from companies like ING to process a check). If you want it now, just send me an email and I'll get it started (or post a "Send me your money now" thread).

This seems to be the best option I think. I would much prefer to do an instant transaction rather than have to deal with check or money order. But, whatever arrangement you need to be done, I'll accomodate when the moment comes.

Poul, Paypal sucks period.
It has reared its ugly head for you.

I will send along your payment as you see fit.

IMO Paypal can be a very picky organization and somebody is worried you are going to skip with the 30-50k you have in deposits and fully paid for funds.Indeed one of the mods on WUS had a similer problem when he liquidated a lot of his collection recently,--it happens.

As long as i know how you want to do things when it comes to the final payment thats OK by me but being in the UK electronic payment would be definately the easiest.

Talk to your Bank about setting up Credit Card facilities which can have secure log in as i suspect most of us have MC,Visa or AM-EX,keep PayPal for those that prefer it.

Long as i know,starting to get fidgity:-d

You only need a four digit "Extended Number" to get rid of that "Limited Account Access" (up to $100). Login to your account and ask PayPal to send it, you'll be charged about 2.5 Euro (don't remember precisely but in this range anyway) and refunded on your next transaction.
After requesting the number you'll have to contact your bank to get it, PayPal doesn't send it directly to you. If you have online acces to your card statement (not PayPal transaction history, it is not shown there) it is even more simple, you can get it from there.
Enter the code to PayPal when requested. The process lasts 4-5 days and doesn't involve shipping information.

I hope this helps.

Poul, if you want me to drive over and pay you in pennies, then I will try to figure out how to do it. I need an excuse to hit the west coast anyways.:-d:-d

Seriously, I am more than happy to pay you with a check or money order.

Hi Poul, If possible electronic transfer would be the easiest, but either way will do. Please give some notice, as some of us will have to transfer from Europe.

You are not the first company that takes deposits... Might want to check with Mitch at Ocean7, I have a $250 deposit with him for 5 month and no watch in hand. ;-) (LM-7)

I can pay via check, but there should be a better solution. Good luck

PS: could you not ship us a "picture" of the watch for the $250 and than we "buy" a new watch for $600?

Yes...this would be a giant mess.

Would you as the customer be ok with sending a check/money order for the remaining balance of $600?

I would be OK in sending a money order. However, I would prefer to have my purchase paid using my credit card. This provides me with a definitive transaction record and my credit card provides some protection. I'm not suggesting that anything bad will happen with the money order, but I prefer a proper paper trail.

there was a fix sent in?, it would be easier to do the electronic transfer, but what is the window for the watch delivery? should be enough time to straighten it out, if not i can send a money order, but would greatly prefer paypal or credit card

good morning Poul. Welcome to paypals customer service.:-d do you have a old account that was closed? like did you have one for buying and selling on ebay? you were flagged for recieving money with no selling history on your current account. if you want I can go email on this on how to get it resolved. I'm pretty sure paypal doesn't want to see me again after they whacked my account, then found out who I was and reopened it with a yes sir attitude. I love the sound of butt kissing in the morningb-)

Hi Poul,
Sorry to hear you have issues with Paypal. As yo know, the European (the Continent, I donīt know about UK) banking system has stopped using checks a long long time ago. So it would be either International banking wire, I had some problems in the past with this regarding getting timely and correct information to the account holder about my payment. So this would need some good communication beforehand with your bank. Or stick with paypal, speaking for myself I prefer Paypal, because I have my bankaccount and Debitcard as backup connected to my paypal account.
Cheers and good luck getting this resolved.

Hi Ty,

I originally was going to setup my own merchant service through US Bank, however, they wanted to much money for it for me to justify the service.

Once I get a nice cash flow going then that is definitely the route I am taking.

To much of a headache with Paypal o|

Hi Yamahaki

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it. I did see your post on the Cafe. What a headache o|

Actually, I have a personal account with Paypal, since 2005. I have done a lot of transactions, all of them buying and sending money.

The account I just opened is a business account. Everything has cleared for me except the last one which is shipping. They want the customer to have the watch on their wrist before they release my money.

Best regards,

So to use Paypal for you, I process the remaining payment, notify paypal I have it on my wrist, you get the money released, make the payment to Fricker, get the watch, send the watch to me. No problem. :-d

Poul hoping all the best with this working out fast for ya. Paypal can at times be a royal pain in the butt. But over all in the last 3 years I have found it to be the best online option I could find.

I hated it when USPS did away with their online MO setup that was nice. I use to send my folks money that way.

Security is important but Paypal needs to learn to me more flexible with customers too in such matters.

On a personal level they are great for me but on a business level I would not touch them. I've seen to many issues like your reported. :-s

Hi Poul,

I hope that you'll be able to get things sorted out with PayPal...what a headache this mess must be for you.

As others have mentioned, I'd prefer being able to pay my balance via PayPal or secured credit card, for the definitive transaction record(and trail)...but am more than willing to send you a money order or check if need be.

;-)

Thanks in anticipation

Poul - will those instruction include when to pay?

Also - i was thinking about sending a check from my credit card, thereby offering me CC protection and allowing you to avoid the paypal fees. Would you as a merchant still get hit with any CC fees this way?
