Since Poul didn't have a chronograph in his upcoming model thread, I decided to make a mockup OE chrono model taking design elements from some popular dive watches. I am by no means an artist, designer, or photoshop aficionado (dont even have photoshop had to use MS Paint) so go easy on my design guys. Would be a nice edition to what is sure to be a stellar Korsbek product lineup. Someday I hope to embark on some crazy adventures around the globe with this strapped to my wrist. I know I'd buy one right now :-!

Looks really great. You probably need screw down chrono pushers and have to sacrifice some WR from the oringinal 1000m. The movement will increase the price probably closer to $2K, but it is a really nice design :-!

I think the screw down pushers complement a watch better that has an external HRV. Such as the Omega Seamaster Chrono. Since the OE HRV is internal I thought pushers modeled after the Tag Aquagraph or Sinn U1000 would blend nicer.b-)

Agreed. Plus round pushers would look far better with this watch. b-)

Hello
This is my first post here and I think I am liking this watch brand more and more. IMHO as a first time poster here, can I respectfully suggest that if any chrono is put out that pushers be operable under water during a dive? I think that makes the chrono an even more useful tool during a dive. Or even timing laps etc.
Regards
Scott

I'm going to have to disagree here. Screw-down pushers won't allow the chronograph to be operated underwater. If a dive watch chronograph can't be operated underwater, there's no point in having it.

Hi Scott,
Welcome to the board :-! and thank you for your kinds words.
Regarding your question. Yes of course, otherwise what would be the point of having a dive chronograph if it can't be used underwater.

This is a very cool concept idea. But yea the 7750 line is tight and spendy. Some of the big houses have been buying up all available movements left and right. And I hear with how tight the 2824/2836 movements are getting the same is happening there too, pushing the prices up like crazy. :-(

Thank you for the reply. That is great news. I look forward to seeing one at some point.

Screw down pushers do not mean they can't operate at depth. e.g. Omega Seamaster Chrono, Blancpain 50 fathoms chrono, IWC Aquatimer etc...
As long as they can be operated at depth it doesn't mater to me if they are screw down or magnetic or whatever (and as long as they are round - these are classic - simple and clean designed watches)

This would be one hell of a dive chrono for me.
As to the pushers working underwater. Why?
I have previously used an SMP diving and used it exactly as i do any bezel divers watch, what do you need the chrono function for underwater? (I ask as i do not know, no criticism:-s)
For me it is just icing on the diving watch cake having chrono function, a sea watch that is a land watch.
If this was made i would get one. As to the movement surely there are others out there of good enough quality. Being a swiss made watch is not a deal breaker for me.

An underwater chrono. is helpful for timing smaller events independent of the total elapsed dive time being tracked by the bezel. These smaller events being decompression/safety stops, times at certain depths, etc.

Functional dive chronographs are rare and pricey.
I'm just hired help here and obviously not wanting to contradict Poul, but lets see how market factors and all that good stuff plays out?

Ah. All too much for me i just use the bezel and a slate to time all. Being simple i like to keep it simple. Cheers for the reply.

Why are you wanting to stifle discussion? Who cares if we speculate and dream.
Also, why is price an issue? You don't think Poul can sell a $2000+ watch?

Never stifle, it causes back ups and unwanted yet sudden releases!
Most quality dive chronos are over 2k. If this was the correct spec and design i would sell the wife....easy:-d

If price point was an attractive $2000 or even $3000 I think it would make Korsbek a nice competitor for Kobold and Sinn. A sweet looking chrono with decent specs for almost $2000 less than the Phantom or U1000 would definitly draw interest. The OE sold out based on a CAD drawing and a few renderings. Once May rolls around I think any upcoming models will sell pretty swiftly.

a diver chrono would be great. only 2 companies have one that operates under water. there are others, but they don't advertise it. if yours came in at the aquagraph price, I'd buy 5|>
