G'Day Crew,
Sorry it has been so long, been especially busy with new command, moving and life in general................ plus I rolled my car.....................
Anyhow, I took my X-33 into the "swatchgroup" here in Sydney for a battery change. Was quoted AUD$130. Got a revised quote today now $363!!!
Indicates that all 4 pushers need replacing to guarantee water resistance.
Now my understanding is that they are titanium pushers, whereas swatchgroup say that they are only steel???
Any idea's?
I am a bit pissed off when they said that the $117 included ALL gaskets and seals including pressure test etc.
Regards,
Rob

That's INSANE Rob! I say do your own batt change...and don't take it near water. As for the pushers...on my gen. II. Maybe they are steel!? John Wilson http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e332/jw1954/DSC_0067-JCCC.jpg

New Battery= $2.00 USD
Size 1.0 Screwdriver $1.00
$3.00 and 10 minutes of your time bonding with your X-33 and you're good to go.
You shouldn't be using this watch in water anyway so :-!

Piad £45 for a battery change to a Gen 1 before Christmas from the Omega Boutique in London.
Looked at doing it myself but the tiny screws really did put me off.

My understanding is that the price in the US is $125 for a battery change, including changing the pushers - which are steel. I had the same argument from Omega - that they are not included in the price and they are Ti, so I reminded them of their advertised terms of conditions and the actual watch specifications. No further argument.
However - I think they changed the terms and conditions recently?

Noob question here, as I have little Chrono experience.
Why does Omega replace the entire pusher (and crowns)? Would it not be easier and less expensive to replace a o-ring on the pusher (and crowns)?
Just curious, this is a topic I have little knowledge on...

I don't see any o-rings on these pushers, so I am not sure how they achieve their watertight integrity, and why they must be replaced. It would be interesting to know why they must be replaced though! ;)

I also got a stupid quote when I got my SMP battery changed. Lucky when I did change the battery I did it in China by Omega. They screwed it up so when I got back home (Perth), the $200 battery change was under warranty.

They screwed up a battery change? At the Omega service center? :-s
<| thumbs down for those goons. Confidence and trust breakers, if they can't even do a battery change properly, how do we expect them to service mechanical watches?
