View Full Version : What's the best way to unload?

So I have a bit of a problem. Recently I bought a 2254. My brother, who has been overseas for work (and who knew I was looking into a 2254) decides he will buy me one duty free.

So know I have 2 brand new (one 1 day old, one 2 weeks old) 2254s. The question is, what is the best way to unload one?

Ebay: but between ebay fees, paypal fees etc I will end up taking a big hit.
Sales Corner: everyone looking at the SC wants a pre-loved watch, and more importantly, they want it at a pre-loved price. Again, between the price and the paypal fees I'm going to be taking a big hit.
Trade: I would trade for something of the same 'value', but any trade would need to be face to face and the Omega market in Brisbane, Australia is at best, tiny.I'm assuming an AD won't refund or return it or swap it for something? Has anyone had any kind of experience returning a watch in similar circumstances?

Thanks in advance.

2 of my 4 watches (2 of my 3 Omegas) have come from right here.

I agree with that too.

I guess I will give it a go. What would be reasonable to ask? Obviously I have to discount the price to some extent (otherwise the buyer may as well buy from an AD)?

I'd try here at your asking price and then if nobody takes any bites send it off to the bay.

I assume both of your watches are in brand new condition? I would try one hundred less than the average price in Australia.

Hey Lucky, what kinda discount did you get? You should be able to sell it at the discounted price you paid. Lets say you bought it NIB at a 30% discount, you haven't worn it, should be worth that right now. Hell, with the stupid prices some people are paying on the "Bay" you might just make a buck! Good Luck.................David

I would call the AD you bought it from and see if they will let you trade up.. I had the a situation a few weeks ago where I wanted to trade up on a week old breitling I had bought. I made it clear to them that it was worn for a few days. They gave me full credit and let me buy a more expensive model with no problems.

It cant hurt to ask.

The AD is in the Singapore airport I think. The one I bought I have worn (for 2 weeks no2).
