I see that Glycine have moved the 'Airman 8', 'Airman 2000' and 'Airman 46' to the "Archive" section of their website.

It is now official that these models are no longer in production.

I hope Glycine reintroduce a traditional style Airman, my vote would be for an updated 'Airman 2000' i.e. a 42mm traditional style Airman but with the trademark "bezel-lock".

I have always believed this would sell well as I have always felt that the Airman 8 and Airman 46 were too small and too large respectively for most tastes (and impractical as working watches) and that the 'Airman 2000' didn't quite come up to the mark.

Hi John,

Thanks for the heads-up.
Also, thanks for your commentary. As usual, I agree with you 100%.
I'd like to see a slightly upscale Airman 2000 in (of course) 42mm size, with domed sapphire crystal and locking crown. Sort of like a "Vintage V" only 42mm.
For now I'll settle for a 44mm SST-06 (I hope it's not too large for me).

Hi Dennis,

Just got the new "Pumpkin" from Anders (will take some photo's) it is the regular version could not get the purist at this time.

It is a big watch but because it has a curve sits well on the wrist and the 24mm lugs help,i am wearing it on the rubber strap will give you a heads up when i try the leather.

The all round feel and build quality is superb and as we know Glycine offer great "bang for the buck" and they have not disapointed this time.

Regards

Martin

PS John, agree with your views apart from the 2000 which i think is a great watch.

An updated 2000 with some of the features from the Vintage V would be a great watch (especially if they offered a 12 on top version :-) )

I am on a short holiday up north in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With me are a Seiko Sportura worldtime and the Airman 46mm. I wore this when I walked into a store here to look at the D24, and I know exactly what you mean. While the 46mm never feels too big on me (now that I have it on a tan Zulu from Howard), the D24 wins on the case. It just feels very comfortable.

I saw and handled the white face, although II think the black one suits me better. I saw the black/orange combo on the SST and somehow that's more for me.

Can't wait to gett home and get it.

Oh, BTW the D24 I saw was 036/300.
