Are there any New Yorkers here who know of some places, like a flea market or something, to hunt for vintage watches in Manhattan or Long Island?

Only my experiences, years ago, with the "jewelry stores without walls" late at night on 42nd street. ;-)

There is on 24th between 6th and 7th on weekends. It used to be in an open lot, but now is in a parking garage. FWIW - you will see some nice watches, but no bargains.

Reminds me of Portabello Road in London.

There are some jewelry stores like Louis Martin Jewelers on 50th and Plaza on 57th which carry vintage watches. Prices at both places are high IMHO.
