Yesterday, inspired by the Oris watches I saw here i went to look at some Oris watches. I like the big crown (the one with the pointer date) as well as the white face moon phase in leather strap. I can only afford one right now, which one do you guys think is a better buy? The Big Crown is the classic of Oris and very famous but the dial of the moonphase looks very nice too. I want to buy that which design will last longer and will not be dated eventually. Hope someone can give me their inputs. Thanks!

Two great choices and a tough decision! The BC Pointer
date goes back to development in 1938 and is an Oris classic watch
design enduring today.

Not sure which complication model you are looking at. Which series
is the watch from? Artelier, Miles etc.?

The main thing is what you like most. What fits your personality
and looks best on your wrist. Ask someone else in the store for
opinion as I sometimes like things but others end up being best
choice on my wrist without me knowing until pointed out from an
outsider! If you buy what you like most you will be happiest in the
end. It is a big advantage to try things on in person too.

Please do ask questions as you have them. We are always
happy to help as Oris enthusiasts, and are not selling anything
here so the advice is coming from the heart. :-)

Yes is the answer to your question, the Artelier line is newer.
Very beautiful styling and I believe will be good longevity. The BC Pointer
is definitely a timeless classic Oris. Only more time will tell if the new
Artelier design holds as true as the Pointer.

Another nice Oris especially in person is the latest model 37mm Classic.
I saw this watch in person the other day and it was absolutely stunning.

Really can't tell you what YOU like ;-) , but if the acrylic crystal is not
an issue (i.e. you can take good care of the watch), the BC Pointer is
a swell choice for timelessness. Maybe some have sapphire crystal now?
On the other hand the Artelier series is a modern classic! Only you can
decide what you like most.

Sabrina: Thanks! I shall take a look at the classic Oris you mentioned. :-)
