Its an odd movement. I can't see the lever or escape wheel to confirm the pallet type, however it is a straight-line lever, whereas many Swiss pin-levers are of the right-angle layout. How 30 jewels could fit in there is beyond my comprehension. It doesn't seem to have been an automatic as there are not the necessary attachment points on the remaining bridges for an auto-winding module. Maybe there are 13 jewels on the calendar mechanism :-s

This is a Mortima SuperDatomatic on ebay. The script for SuperDatomatic is identical - so perhaps the movement is a French one. This one is also hand winding (despite the ...omatic) but with just 17 jewels.

Possibly. I don't really know (or care that much!) Cattin 66?
BTW, JohnF has one of these.

Hi -
I don't know whether to be impressed or disturbed that you remember I have one of these... :-)
The brand is Mortima, which from what I understand - and this is not extensive in any case - is a French brand. The SuperDatoMatic - I actually decided to get my diver because of that name, who could resist! - is from the early 1970s, and is a nice, if somewhat pedestrian, design. I've attached a small picture of the watch that I have.
I've never actually popped the back to see what was in there...I remember it kept adequate time (ca 30s/day fast), but I got it on eBay for not much money at all (less than €30).
Getting a replacement movement is really your only bet here: anything else would require an enormous amount of work to fit the dial and hands to a new movement, and really isn't an alternative. Once you identify the movement, you can then try to find a replacement movement. I doubt sincerely that you will be able to find the missing parts: your watch was, at one time, cannibalized to provide parts for another watch.

Once you identify your movement, dashto and Uncle Larry's are 2 suppliers of used movements with online listings of what they have in stock.
