View Full Version : For the SMP/PO - Stap or Bracelet?

Since I got my 2254.50 a couple of years back, I would alternate between the bracelet it came with and a NATO G10. Then once I got my OEM mesh that was entered into the monthly rotation.

Now that I have my 2200.50 and got a rubber strap with it, I have been wearing it on the bracelet and switching to the rubber strap on weekends. More straps are on the way so that will mix things up more for my PO.

I sort of prefer the bracelet on my divers a little more over the straps for the majority of occasions. Does anyone else have a preference between bracelets and straps on a diver?

I said both, since I do use both...

To be honest though, it's on the bracelet most of the time. I usually put it on the strap if I know I might get it really wet / dirty. :-d

Hey JB!

I use both but voted bracelet as if I had to chose one, bracelet would win everytime for me.

When I had my PO it got about 20% wrist time on rubber or croc.

I'm a bracelet kinda guy. In the heat of the deep south, a strap rots and stinks in no time.

I use both and alternate a lot. In the first 8 days i had my PO it was on 5 differnt straps/bracelet/NATOs. Its like a new watch each time you change it.

My answer is both, too, but I'd say the majority of the time my SMP is on the OEM bracelet. I do dress it up from time to time on a navy Hirsch Leonardo Principe strap and then make it more casual with the OEM rubber strap w/ diver deployant (which really wears more like a bracelet anyway given the size of the clasp).

The bracelet gets my vote. I wear my watches at least 80% of the time on the ss bracelet.

Bracelet. As, said before, the South (Texas) is not good for plastic or leather.

I voted Both, i tend to go with the Bracelet on special occasions and use leather straps most of the time..

Bond;
just like you I prefer the bracelet over the strap 90% of the time. I prefer the strap only for activities such as swimming, fishing and anything outdoors.

I vote bracelet. Currently that's my only option for my SMP. I'm thinking about getting a strap of some sort but typically if I want to wear something on leather, rubber, or nylon, I just switch watches.

I voted straps because I prefer them over bracelets. I really like beefy nylon or kevlar straps that match the colors of the watch (blue, orange, black, etc.). But I am open to both straps and bracelets, mostly mesh bracelets.

I can usually size the bracelet perfectly, but for the watches I have or had, I like the look of them on straps better even though I'm usually between the holes. That all depends on the size of the case (length and thickness), the position of the spring bars, the stiffness of the strap etc... That is the problem.

I just put my Speedy on Hirsch sheep (thick & soft). This is the first time the strap fits on my wrist very good (not between the holes).

Anyway, I like the SMP on bracelet and PO on the OEM rubber personally. But, the PO looks really sharp on the bracelet and fit perfectly on my wrist.

My conclusion is that it's very difficult to find the combo I like and fits on my wrist perfectly at the same time.

I relay like both, and use both of them on my PO.
The rubber strap looks a little more sporty, but the bracelet just sets it off..(IMO, the strap is a little more comfortable than the bracelet.)
I relay like the look and feel of the rubber strap, but just needed littler change, so i switched back to the bracelet. :-!
I did just order a couple of Zulu straps for the Speedy and PO and I'm excited to see how they look and feel on them..(I ordered a black one and the black with gray stripe)
