View Full Version : How you place your watch overnight (no not the same old question)

It seems just about everyone here has tested this. For example, my c.2500 gains face up and changes the least placed crown down. My c.1164 gains face up and changes the least placed crown up, just the opposite. Both slow a little while being worn during the day so I compensate by how I place them overnight.

Has this been tried enough by everyone here to develop a statistical trend by each movement caliber? Be sure to post your movement number.

If you fellas would like to post your findings I'll try to track the answers and develop a report. Just for the fun of it of course. It will be interesting to see if like movements have the same traits or if it really is individual to each and every watch. Anyone care to play along?

SMP 2220.80 - Had 2 months. At time now that I set it back in April.(lost nil) Gains 2sec face up or down at night. Loses this in the day. (2sec) . If I wear less, ie weekends, I put it crown up to lose 4 secs overnight that will have been gained from not wearing (if you see what I mean ?!)

My caliber 2500 loses time in every position but loses the least crown down (about 2.5 sec/day per time.gov).

I use "Atomic Clock Sync" -a free program that you can Google and find easily- to sync my computer clock.

BTW - I also have a Pilot Original (83/90). How's yours doing on gaining/losing time per day?
