Just got an email from Gunter, delivery of the new slightly smaller Flieger's to Steinhart should be next week. Hopefully they will start shipping to customers soon after. Price is 350 Euro. Gunter also sent some great photo's, fantastic looking watch! I requested my name be added to the list for one of the auto's, can't wait!

Best, Mike W.

I have to agree with you, I would prefer hand wound - But I also prefer the center seconds hand :-s. I think I will stick with my original thought and go with the auto. for now, both are outstanding looking watches for the money though :-!.

Hmmmm..........

Maybe one of the limited editions that Steinhart do with this little Nav.B could be the modified centre seconds hand wound movement just like the larger 47mm Nav.B-uhr REPLICA 55 units version.

Exciting times ahead ;-)

My thoughts exactly :-!

Didnt I read somewere that an auto can be modified to a hand wind quite easily ?? Suppose it depends on the paticular movement.

You would only have to remove the rotor, but why would anyone want to?

You can handwind the 2824 without removing the rotor when your not wearing it I keep a collection of three watches going like this all of them autos.

because some people like a manual wind ! and this version with centre seconds and at this size isnt available from steinhart.

Have Steinhart said if the display back on the manual will be sapphire or mineral?

Mr. Steinhart states the 6497 version will have a mineral glass caseback, the 2824-2 version will have a steel caseback.

Well, you can hand wind most automatic's. So what is wrong with having the auto feature together with the hand winding option?

Today I finally received an email from Steinhart indicating the 44mm Flieger was in and orders could be placed - I am going to pass for now, after not hearing back last week I ordered another Ocean7 instead. Perhaps down the road I will pick one up.

Lug width is 22mm.

Best to all, Mike W.
