That one blows me away every time I see it, Ian. Looks like it came from one of those old 'Life in the year 2000...' Popular Science issues. :-!

That is superb. I've always loved these LED displays. Is this a vintage 70's model? if so it's is probably worth a mint (kind of like similar Pulsars from the same time period). Truly spectacular. It reminds me of 1950's visions of Ailen robots - Very Art-Deco.

Looks like something this guy would love:

A Synchronar module wrapped in titanium must be damn near invulnerable to anything short of kryptonite.

WHAT? Never, Free the GP Driver. Someone call Al Sharpton. This fine watch needs to be furloughed from it's cushioned prison, and be allowed to do that which it was designed designed to do (preferably behind the wheel of something low slung and fast). ;-)

Super cool GP casquette. Haven't seen many gold versions, though.
I like the makrolon better. Neither I can afford, sigh.

I have a Bulova sideview driver which worked for about half a second. The modules are sooo sensitive and impossible to fix.

Driving watches are a whole subgenere of watches. They are often chronographs, though not always. The main thing about driving watches is that they are typically oriented to face the driver of the car while your hand (often your left hand) is at 1000 on the steering wheel. Other than this GP, the seiko Bullhead would be a good example of a traditional driver's watch.
