I just bought this Navitimer on ebay and wanted to get you guys opinion if this was a good deal. I paid $2550

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110268745494

what appealed to me most is that he offers a 7 day return policy which will allow me to have the watch fully inspected to make sure everything checks out.

your input would be greatly appreciated

watch looks OK, but you're buying from a zero (0) feedback seller. are you picking the watch up in person ? , I wouldnt send my $2550 to a zero(0) feedback seller, not even through paypal (unless you can get your money back through your CC company if he doesnt send anything)

also he says he will leave negative feedback ? , you cant do that anymore as a seller

all in all i'd be very hesitant

p.s. i might just be too carefull ! and everything may turn out great :-)

i have to agree with the above. if i were you i wouldn't send any money unless i first checked that it was covered by my credit card. sellers that make threats like 'leave negative feedback' are trying to be threatening. this isn't necessary if the seller is genuine. even if the seller could leave negative feedback, better that than get scammed for this amount of money. believe me, i've been there.

your input would be greatly appreciatedThe auction says the watch is in Arlington, Texas which is near Dallas. Email the seller and tell him you have an acquaintance who will come over and inspect the watch before you send payment. The member who bought my Crosswind/UTC lives in Ft. Worth and is the Chief of Police (retired) of that city. I think he would be happy to inspect the Navi for you if I ask him. The seller should be happy to meet with him. Most importantly, judge the response and reaction to your email. That should give you a fair idea of the seller's veracity. If he is quite open with addresses and phone numbers and receptive to the inspection, you're likely ok with the deal. If not, walk away.
Cheers,
Ron

Good advice from Ron! I live in Fort Worth which is about 20 miles from Arlington. I would not bid on an item from a 0 feedback seller! Hope everything works out for you, the Navitimer is a great, classic watch.

interesting why did it get pulled? After I gave Bruno (loanman) a call and discussed the sale and evaluation, he was armed with enough information to email the seller the appropriate queries. Shockingly, the seller never responded ;-) :-d to the email and the auction was pulled shortly after that. Fortunately, funds had not been sent for the purchase and loanman is contacting one of my AD references to buy brand new. :-! I suspect we'll be seeing some pics posted here in the not too distant future... ;-)

daveHi, Dave. Actually, that subject was discussed last month during a lunch meeting with the gentleman whose services I offered (and he happily agreed to do so) to loanman for evaluation of that auction watch. His lovely wife on the left, him center and me right) We were in the Salt Grass Saloon and Steakhouse consumating a watch sale and having a good time discussing Breitlings. He had just bought my two tone Crosswind with UTC module and had brought his new SOH and E with him to show. I was wearing the B-1/UTC but had the Evo with me as well. The setting being what it was, rustling (horses or watches) and its consequences was one of the topics of discussion. :-d The penalty assessed for the act no matter the object is still the same down here in the Wild West. ;-) Hahahahahaha!! :-d

Cheers,
Ron

Hey guys, been out of town for a few days so sorry I didn't post the conclusion to my story. From what you guys have read from Ron's post you know that Ron saved my butt $2550. What an awesome guy to step in and help a guy he had never met. Ron you are a true gentlemen and I can't thank you enough. Not only did he save my butt, he also hooked me up with a contact to get a great deal.

I will let you all know what watch I went with and thanks again Ron, I really appreciate it!
