I recently obtained this watch it has the Mappin & Webb logo onthe dial, case size app 66mm, it has an eight day movement, but no makers mark.
On the movement side it shows Brevet 55236 And the Swiss cross
On the movement uner the dial side it shows 1179787 plus Depose and again the Swiss cross. Can you help with identification.

It's regulator is marked in German rather than French which could indicate a German maker. But why then would it be patented and registered in Switzerland? I think I'll leave this for our German experts to have a go.

It seems to me that the dial was glued to the mechanisam,so U can ignore it as well as the inscription on it,with no regret.

The movement is a stem-wind 24''' (51.1 mm) Doxa 8 day clock movement.
