Hi guys, am glad to see that the vibrant discussion on this forum has resumed so quickly, despite technical glitches with the old server.

Anyhow, I have a general query relating to the Radio-Room Vostok orders which many of us placed previously with a certain Ebay seller (Miniwing1). Like many on this forum, I placed my order for 27 (yes, 27!) Radio Room Vostoks with Rob on November 10th, 2005. Despite a lengthy exchange of emails throughout November and December, 2005, the watches did not arrive here in Canada. In late December, 2005, after numerous follow up emails and phone messages to him, Rob advised that the package had been returned to him, due to an unspecified problem with Canada Post.

Thereafter, I specifically asked Rob to re-send the shipment, only using Registered mail with USPS (which I was willing to pay for). As of the date herein, I have not received the package, and despite repeated requests for Rob to send me the tracking numbers, he has been either "out of town" or for other reasons unable to provide me with the tracking details.

While I am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, given his otherwise solid reputation on Ebay and his transactions with others on this forum. However, I am getting a bit antsy about the whole ordeal, particularly given the lengthy delay. Given that it is well over three months since I made payment, all of the Paypal/Ebay buyer protection mechanisms are unavailable.

Do you guys think I should be concerned, particularly given the fact that I have received nothing whatsoever to confirm that the shipment is on its way, other than Rob's good word. Nor have I ever been contacted by Canada Post advising of an item being returned to the US sender.

Has anyone else had similar issues (particularly fellow Canadian buyers)? Or am I just unlucky with packages? I should mention that since the start of this matter, I have received well over a dozen other packages from other US seller, which were all sent subsequent to the November 10th, 2005 date.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciate it.

Sorry to hear about this...my watch took quite a while to get here but it did...anyway miniwing1 didn't give me any feedback after many e-mails to him. After I sent him a really obnoxious e-mail he finally gave me pos. feedback but pretty much told me to go f**k myself. I told him the same and won't ever deal with him again.
Smiles from Peter

PS I can send my mother to his house to kick his ass if you want.;-)

Sorry about your ordeal. I'm not sure what the problem is as I bought one from him recently on a 2nd chance offer ($25) and the watch arrived in record time ( 2 1/2 days) via USPS. His emails were immediate and answered my questions, he left feedback only after I left mine but did so within several days.

Alright, an update to my earlier problem... the seller finally sent 25 watches, after much prompting and an exchange of somewhat heated emails... I am so happy to receive them that I have offered to forego the two that didn't arrive...

Several members on this forum had previously indicated that they would be interested in buying one of these from me when I finally received these (unfortunately, I lost everyone's PMs when the server crashed).... Anyhow, I can now offer to sell them for the price I got them for, being a net amount of $35 each, plus $12 for registered shipping from Canada.... total amount then would be $47 per watch, or two for $82, including shipping. (Moderator, please remove this posting if it is inappropriate to offer items for sale)....

I might be interested in one of them Ruskies! Being a newbie, I have no idea what this thing looks like. Can anybody point me to an image of one somplace? I looked on the Bay, and found this guy's stuff, but wasn't positive I had the right one.

What's the attraction of the "radio room" version over the others he's offering?

Welcome to the forum CottyGee! The original attraction to this model os twofold. Firstly, the "old-style" Amphbian case, with its octagonal shape, is generally valued as one of the most robust stainless-steel cases manufactured by Vostok. Later and current Amphibian models use a much more rounded case which is more comfortable to wear, but less hefty.

The second attraction to this model is that the dial design WAS quite rare, prior to the sudden flood of these watches on Ebay, as recently as last year, the going rate for a Radio Room was about $80... that was certainly one of the reasons that i decided to stockpile these watches when the opportunity came up... Of course, the sudden increase in supply has brought that price down.

Drop me a line if you are still interested.... I am selling because i think my enthusiasm got ahead of me, and over ordered.

infinitime, did you you finally get your watches! :-!

CottyGee, I just posted an article on the watch here. (http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=4068)

Yes, FINALLY, after an exchange of several harshly phrased email, and on my suggestion to the seller that i was prepared to start a Small Claims legal action against him. It wasn't the most pleasant of transactions, but the seller finally came through, and sent 25 watches (i was so happy at having received them, that i accepted the transaction as being substantially complete, even though i had originally order and paid for 27)
