So the FedEx guy arrived today and delivered my 42mm Black Bezel (with Orange Numbers) Planet Ocean from the Forum AD. There was much chomping at the bit waiting (and reloading the FedEx tracking page over, and over, and over...) for it to arrive and here it is! I specifically brought my digital SLR with macro lens to take these shots! Let me know what you guys think!

By the way, this is my first Omega.

Much thanks to jsmrolls for the Forum AD contact info, and the Forum AD as well, for making this as painless and easy as can be.

One question though: My 42mm PO doesn't have the globe laser etching on the back. Is this normal for this year's model?

Already I'm eyeing either the Black Bond SMP or maybe I'll branch out and get a Tag Monaco/Carrera!

It's a beaut, although you haven't helped the little argument going on in my head as to whether to save my pennys for that one or the black and white, cos that's tops too. So thanks!!:-s

I know it's off-topic but regarding the Monaco... is the second hand on the Chrono model the actual second-hand, or is it on the little dial? I really hate second hands that are on the little dials. That could actually be a limiting factor to me buying one.

Yeah yeah, I got the Michelle Phelps model PO. I don't care. The 45.5 looked silly on my 7 1/4" wrist. Plus I plan on wearing this for long after big-faced watches go the way of the dodo.

I just bought the same watch. It looks great on a 7-7 1/4" inch wrist.

They make 2 sizes for a reason, lots of different sized men in this world.

I'd call it Big and Bigger. 42 is not small by any means.

I got mine back end of last year and it has the globe laser etching on it. It had to be ordered direct from Omega so it hadn't been sitting around in the ADs place at all. I thought it was normal for all new Omegas to have it as its an anti-counterfeiting thing I believe. Not sure when it was introduced though so it may be that the FFAD already had your one in stock from a while back?

Nice pickup. The orange numbers are really sharp.

It does seem odd that this model does not have the globe etching on it because the orange number/black bezel model is a relatively new model. Does your bracelet have "PROFESSIONAL" on it? I believe the newer 42mm bracelets have this on it. No worry though, its possible that Omega is still cleaning out the old inventory of cases without the "globe", or based on a rather long winded thread recently on case backs, a different supplier may not have etched the case. We will get QT to investigate this for us.

Enjoy the watch.

Not good news then mate the main second hand is indeed in the left subdial, orange hand is for the chrono

great score Bill. I have a PO 42mm also, and I can't wait for it to get back from LA servicing. enjoy it, and remember to look into other bands like the rubber dive strap, hirsch carbon, brown/black gator, etc. Believe me, they really can change the feel of the watch to suit many different styles.

Congratulations...mine arrived today as well. Couldn't be happier.

BTW the laser etching isn't on every PO or Seamaster as far as I remember. There's some info around that it is only used in certain batches by Omega.
Will try to look for it.
