I'm just devastated.
The love of my life apart from my wife died last night
My beautiful Bengal Cat passed away unexpectedly.
It's like I've lost a child. As you can see, we were very close.

So sorry for your loss. I know how you feel, 2 years a ago my dear cat passed away literally in my arms on my way to the vet. I was crushed, but after a few days I rescued a little kitten, maybe 2-3 weeks old, off the street and I figured that out as a sign of some sort... Since then, I promised myself to never pay money for a pet, just head out to a shelter and find a poor little soul that needs a good loving home...

Sorry. Been there . No fun. Take some solace in the fact that your beautiful cat was treated like royalty while it was with you. Small, but hopefully some, comfort.

Mate,
That's really sh***y, I'm very sorry to hear that. They worm their way in big time and leave a big hole when they go don't they. And (s)he was a handsome beast too, and I bet (s)he knew it!
All the best mate.
Rik.

You have my sympathy Davey.
It's bad enough to lose a much loved pet, but it must be worse when it's unexpected.
Best wishes,
Nick.

I would have never given this thread a shot at opening years ago since we aren't "pet people". My children love pets so I caved in and came home with this:

I've grown quite fond of the little chap even though he's completely destroyed my leather furniture, sprayed the floor and attacks me when I walk down the hall. I wouldn't give a second thought to getting a new kitten Davey. But I now know how you'll miss the Bengal.

Dave, Elaine, I am so so sorry about your loss, I know from our friendship how much you love them and to lose one is obviously devastating.
I remember the feeling when we lost our collie a few years back, in fact you helped me through it so you know where i am if you want to chat..
Love to you and Elaine.

Hi Davey,
Indeed very sad news...:-(
And looking at the photo's: It was a very very beautiful animal too !
Life goes on, but will never be the same...:-(
We have a parrot here at home - a bird with a relatively high life expectation, but the few times he was ill, I was worried to dead and yes,
such an animal is a "part of the family".
Without her ( it's a lady ;-) ) it would be terribly quiet here in the house....

Sorry to hear of your loss. Earlier this year my 15 year old Russian blue had to be put down, he died while I held him and spoke to him. He can never be replaced, but I rescued 'Petey' from a shelter and he is my buddy now. Smokey was a long hair and Petey is a short hair.

I had to put down my best friend last year and I am still not over him. He was like a brother to me, slept on a pillow next to me at night. I am very sorry about your loss, I can only tell you I understand. Remember at laugh at the good times, it is to easy remember the sadness. Thinking of you...

Davey,
Sorry for your loss. The problem with cats is that they are so bloody adorable they just become a big part of your life. I was not a cat guy until I married a serious cat lover. Since then, many have trooped in and out of the home, i remember each and everyone of them, how distinctive their behaviours can be and how many things they have destroyed in the home! When my first cat died many years ago, i bawled my eyes out much to the surprise of my wife. I understand how you feel. Cherish those memories and take a look at this site, hopefully it will cheer you up.

Sorry, Davey. :-( She is a gorgeous cat. Reminds me of one I had some twenty years ago. More personality than the law allowed. Always a pleasant memory when reminded...
Cheers, mate.

That's what my wife and I have done. Our last one just showed up on our doorstep and we couldn't help but take her in. We now have three cats.

Its nice to see so many pet adopters here.
Davey - I feel youre pain. Weve had to put two dogs to sleep over the past two years. You can never replace the lost one, but a new friend never is never a bad idea :-)
