I stoppedbymy ADtoday to drop off my SOH for adjustment, it was running at +15 since I got it in Dec. and didn't seem to want to settle in. He pulled this out of the back as a surprise. It seems that they are changing there displays. I have no idea where I will put it.

Very cool, Elliot! I know where you should put it. On EBay, Todd will buy it. :-)

If colonies means crooked politicians, poor economic environment and generally backwards ways, then yes it is.

Glad to hear you're still with us. I need someone to share the pain.

I'm searching for a new way to earn a living. The one I have is tainted beyond repair. I've lost all hope for it.

I feel your pain. You may not recall, but I am also a CFP. I was doing planning on a part time basis, the 2000 tech crash, followed by 9/11 and the Patriot Act made it impossible for me to continue - the greif:reward ratio turned too high.
You also teach don't you?
What is remarkable is my younger kid who is a HS Senior is taking economics 1. He came home marveling at what just happened.

I'll save you guys a spot in the soup line. I just took all my 401K paperwork and put it on a roll in the bathroom.

What effect will all this have on the high end watch market. Or will WUS keep it afloat?
I might give the Wall St AD a call....:-d:-d:-d

Yep, the high end watch companies are so worried that Rolex just announced a 3% price increase. You can bet the others will follow suit. I guess they figure if you can afford a watch a little thing like the economy in the toilet won't stop you.

Its early days and I'm expecting strange ways to emerge from the murk. Todd, how is it in the crucible? From afar we look on in wonder and awe, shocked and stunned. I may be digging up the back yard this spring and planting vegies and potatoes. It seems like a good way to utilise the capital tied up in the urban dirt. Rbt, you have to crumple up those 401 forms to soften the material before use. My dad heard this from a Parisian dress maker, post WW11, when recycling old dress patterns was toilet chique as other paper was almost unobtainable for such purposes. Of course, one lady was impressed by the fact that the sheets had "front" and "back" printed on them!

I do remember that you are a CFP. I do have a part time teaching job that actually pays about the same amount of money that my wife makes and we can cover every aspect of daily life with those incomes. But the watch buying would have to stop. That may be the most frightening part of the equation. Sad but true. :-d

1- you could try stealing instead of buying watches.
2- Sell fakes on e-bay to supplement the authentic watch buying.
Sorry to sound glib, I know what the business is like.
Look at the bright side the market made back halfof yesterdays loss today.
In what other business do they throw money at you when things are at a peak, and don't want to know from you when there are bargains. For heavens sake Breitlings are on sale on Wall street. People have a hard time understanding that the real money is made when there is blood in the street
