Time to put a strap on your Speedy! I performed my first ever bracelet/strap swap today. I was nervous, but fortunately no damage done! I bought the dark brown rally strap from Bill Mahoney, a/k/a Squinky. I think it looks pretty good.

The 100s inland today in SoCal. FrankinCa has to be sweating in Burbank.
Cool in Snakland.
In Flagstaff last week, colors were starting to turn and leaves were falling. Fall is a great time of year. We don't see the color changes out here you folks back East see.

Sharp looking combo. Both my Speedys are on bracelets, but yours makes me want a strap.

Your right it's getting colder. I may have to switch to leather myself, I hate it when my tongue sticks to my bracelet.

Which one is better for winter, rubber or leather?

I was told not to go either in winter as the cold may make it harden and then crack down the line.

Any truth to this?

The cartoon? haven't watched that in ages... but I love metal on skin..

I think leather is the one that cracks because cold sucks the moisture out of it and makes it dry.. rubber a good quality one wouldn't be effected by cold.

What was the Snak doing in Flags? Nice city, I was there many times last year, while I was working and living in GC, same time as the Cardinals had their training camp!
I mean the AZ Cs;-)

Unless your walking around in short sleeves, I don't think your strap is going to get that cold.

I grew up in Winnipeg. I wore leather gloves/mitts in -50 deg celsius. They never cracked on me.
I think rubber is more likely to get hard and crack when it gets really cold. But there again, if you are wearing your watch under your clothes it's not going to be an issue.

It's just up the road from Sedona, where I have friends and clients. Have been there often. Went up to see Lowell Observatory this time.

This is interior. Telescope is 112 years old and still pretty much as it was. Still used today.

Canopy over the building revolves on 1954 Studebaker car wheels.

Been to Sedona last year as well. Pretty much been around all the cities surrounding GC back then....

Interesting telescope they've got there, but if i think of that area, mostly the canyon comes to my mind:-)

It's up on a mesa overlooking the city. It's the observatory where they discovered Pluto.
