Solid gold Glashutte pocket watch

Hi!

Would like to show you my latest acquisition to pocket watches collection - solid-gold Glashutte in a hunter case. It was sold for 4437 roubles (new Volga car was ~5000roubles) in Moscow Jewellery shop in 1951.
The watch is in mint condition - I think photos speak for itself.

Beautiful piece in a great state of preservation!!

As to date, others will know more but certainly after the middle nineteenth century. I would guess early twentieth century. I know of no serial number / date index.

I found out that a Glashutte watch maker, E. Kassiske, started his factory in 1898, and it was integrated in 1904 to become Glashutter Prazisionsuhrenfabrik AG. From 1918 Deutsche Prazisions-Uhrenfabrik Glashutte
The words "Original Glashutte" first appeared on the dial in 1921.
Later, do not know when exactly, it became a part of Urofa. (Urofa started 1926.)
I have nicked this info from a couple of companys watch info, so I cannot disclose the sources. (I think)

So I guess your watch was made between 1921 and 1926 or so (1939 latest).
Somehow I can not see them using 14K gold during war time. More important stuff to buy, like Swedish steel, iron ore and ballbearings!!
The "0,585" stamp is the same as 14 carat gold, 58,5 % of the volume is gold.
I love that Swan neck adjustment!

You certainly needed to be an important person of the Party to afford it! (or a car, of course)

From the look of the bridges, I would say an upper mid level.
Still very beautiful movement!
