Isthmus

I put this post together in order to answer a question on another forum. I figured it might make for a decent size reference guide here on the forum as well. Please feel free to add any other comparison pictures of popular divers against another popular diver. don't forget to include a redirect link taking anyone interested to where a discussion on that comparison might be found.
Without further ado, here are some popular divers compared side by side.

Here is a Sumo next to Planet Ocean (which it is often compared to):
I assume that's the 45.5 mm PO? I'd like one of those, but its just so, so common.
The comparison shots make me want a MM, again, badly.

yes it is the full sized PO. I'm not sure where exactly they are so, so common. I live in one of the biggest markets for high end watches and work with very wealthy people who buy these things. I see PO's every now and then, but I wouldn't say that they are common. Still in north america, the Marine master and the Sumo are definitely much rarer fish.

Fellow forumer Smalls posted a few very helpful side-by-sides of the Orient Mako and the Seiko Monster in this thread:
http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=223984&highlight=MONSTER+mako+pic
As I have not contacted him for permission to do so, I won't put them here myself, although they definitely warrant a spot in this thread! :-!

Thanks I've shot him a note and quoted his post :
Here you go! It's funny how much bigger a watch can look just based on the height of the watch. The mako is close in size to the monster but the third pic makes the mako look small because it's not sitting up as much as the monster. Hope this helps. :-!

Earlier in the thread, there is an Omega Planet Ocean 45.5 versus a Sumo but here's the smaller 42mm version versus a variety of my Seikos:
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g76/TheWorldisFlat/Watch%20Stuff%209/IMG_2965.jpg
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g76/TheWorldisFlat/Watch%20Stuff%209/IMG_3000.jpg
The Sumo and Marine Master 300m totally dwarf the 42mm PO in every way, but the Samurai is about the same, just a bit thicker. I never realized just how huge the Sumo was until I wore mine into an Omega AD and tried on the 45.5 Planet Ocean recently. The Sumo looks bigger than the 45.5, even though the PO wears much larger. Putting them side by side, the Sumo looks larger than the 45.5 PO, which is why I ended up going with the 42mm PO. I'll leave the larger size, imposing diver status to my Seikos. :-!
