Hey Fellas,

Chanced upon a Titoni Airmaster 25 Jewels Rotomatic this weekend at a flea mart. Can anybody identify the age of this new baby of mine?

The back reads :
Rotomatic-Incabloc-Swiss Made-307 345-Stainless Steel-Waterproof

Reason I'm asking is because I noted some examples online where the Titoni logo was coloured red but mine isn't. Anybody knows when Titoni started colouring their logos?

Thanks heaps!

Ken

There are a good number of these showing up on eBay right now. This specific Airmaster if probably from the sixties or seventies. Tionti usually uses Eta movements.

If they have been maintained they keep great time and should last another fifty years or more. And, as you have found, they sell for a LOT less than new watches!!

Welcome to Vintage!

Just guessing here but...
The date window usually means 1960s or later.
In the 1970s you normally see baton hands not the sword like hands seen here.
Waterproof usually means prior to 1971 - after that Water Resistant was the label.

So my conclusion is 1960s.

it looks like you have a lot of vintage Seikos... Photograph them and post them! (I like movement pics a lot... as do many others here).

Well that one is clearly from the 1970s so that is a clue about the color.

Hey Marrick,

That's a great looking Titoni! Just love the squarish case. And oh my goodness the hands!! I've seen models like 939 and now 009.. What do these numbers mean?

Hey Eeeb,

Here's a pic of my Seikos.. Too bad I don't have the tools to open up the back to peek at the movement. Acty, I bought almost this whole collection in 3 weeks (I kinda went vintage seiko crazy last month - maybe its a mid life crisis thing).

And just for fun, here's a 60's Omega I inherited from Dad, with a custom made bracelet with my family name.(Yes I'm Chinese)

And before I forget, thanks a whole bunch for your help with the info!

Some of Seiko's early quartz movements are wonderful to look at. The modern ones are pretty utilitarian... just like the Swiss.

Here's another Titoni I just picked up today. I can't seem to find out anything about it online. It's a "Cosmo 55".

Any info on this?

Thanks heaps!

Thank you. I think the 009 means its licensed to kill - but I'm not sure.b-)

Wasn't 009 killed in Octopussy?

1970s watch for sure. Movement likely a generic ETA Swiss or equivalent.

Titoni had a Cosmo NN line where NN is a number.

I am not sure if the number means a great deal but I just got in a Cosmo 99 with a 36000bph movement. I suspect it was top of the line so maybe higher numbers are more expensive watches.

Titoni never made it's own movements. Most are AS or Eta.
