Nice pics, Al. What are you getting instead?Hi, Bob. He damn well better be getting the new polished BB which will accept his A70177 black dial UTC module and 359A bracelet beautifully - form, fit and function. Furthermore, to my knowledge, it will be the only kit like that on the planet. Sure, he'll whine something about the BB should be brushed and he couldn't get anyone to brush the UTC to match but don't buy into that. I may have to send Lou and Davey over to his house to make him an offer he can't refuse... ;-) b-)
Cheers,
Ron

I swear (quite a lot as it happens) that you two are trying to beat me up ;_)
Just cos you are on the other side of the pond dont think you can set Davey and Lou on me!
I'm going to have a nice cup of "rosey" now and tell you about the UTC later (Rik is advising me as to the UTC tax liability ;_)
You guys............. (Bob "it's.........)

No it is not. Below is the one you supposedly can't get brushed. The one you have pictured is for girls, all pinkish. ;-) :-d
Why, oh WHY can't you just sell the BB (or trade it in) and get a brand new polished version? It would easily be the nicest looking BlackBird on the planet. If you don't do it, I will be forced to buy the UTC kit from you (at a highly discounted price of course) and a new polished BB from my AD. Either that or Lou and Davey will be there this weekend to talk sense into you... ;-)
Cheers,
Ron

Did they never make a RG one ;_)
Well if no-one will brush it for me one day I might have to do as you suggest. (cos as you guys say "she aint going nowhere")
But all that glare.....
Have a good one.

Question for those in the know. Would the UTC for the B-1 fit a Chronomat?
I know that the Chronomat has the "UTC" inscribed link (as shown). The reason I ask is, you can see that a Blackbird is on the wish list, but would a B-1 UTC fit between the interhorns of a Chronomat/Blackbird. If so I would like to fit it either to a polished finished Blackbird watch or have the UTC brushed ( or do it myself) to compliment the other Blackbird option.
Chaps, quote part numbers if you wish, all information is good.

I think Ron and I discussed this.
Ask him next time he gets off the golf course.
(And if you find someone to brush it/do it yourself I want to know! ;_)

Al
I was tempted to post that line too, but I thought two risquet posts in one day was too much.
Re the pics of my attempts of brush finishing. Can you give me a couple of days. I'm in the midst of constructing a light box as Ron keeps digging me about my iridescent lighting in my pics. Also if I can get the light box to work the pics hopefully will give you (and me!!) a better idea of the close up quality of my work.
This could be interesting.:think::-s

Chaps, quote part numbers if you wish, all information is good.Hi, Gav. Well, even though the A70174 module for the B-1 (and Crosswind and Headwind watches) is the same width as the A70177 which fits the Chronomat (Evo) and Blackbird case, the two are absolutely not compatible. The springbar hole geometry for the EVO/BB is very, very different compared to the B-1 and Crosswind series, hence the necessity for the UTC engraved special end link fitted to the A70177. Just for fun and curiosity, I just a few minutes ago fitted the A70174 module between the interhorns of my Evo. You can't even fit the module far enough into the lug space to come anywhere near the drilled hole locations. Further, even if you were to drill holes closer to the ends of the case lugs to allow insertion of the springbar tips, the UTC can not rotate downwards because of case to case interference. Sorry to report the bad news. :-( Hopefully you can easily see the reason for the incompatibility by perusing the pics below... :-)
Cheers, mate.

Thanks Ron.
As ever you have the definitive answer complete with supporting evidence, in your clear and impressive camera work. Thanks for taking the time to try to dry fit the '174 onto the EVO.
Ah well, it looks like I'm on the search for a '177 UTC AND link for my ( still to be purchased ) Blackbird.
:think:I'll have to find something to trade that's just as rare..........now where did I put that hens tooth :think:

:think:I'll have to find something to trade that's just as rare..........now where did I put that hens tooth :think:Hi, Gav, Give Alan a ring and negotiate the kit from him. I have doubts about him being able to have the kit brushed as perfectly as it would have been when in manufacture and it seems a waste not to see the kit attached to a mother ship. Since Al doesn't really care for the polished 316L, he will hopefully strike a fair deal with you to allow your acquistion for your near future polished BB. The kit really needs to stay in the WUS Breitlng family and it would help round out your wonderful UTC holdings beautifully. Want me to talk to Al? ;-) :-)
Cheers,
Ron
