hey there,
Anyone out there with any thoughts or comments regarding the BR 03?
How is it compared to the BR 01-92? other than the movement what do you guys/gals think are the major differences if any? :-)

The movement in the 01-92 and 03-92 are the same, no? Besides the obvious size difference as well I think the lume color is different.

hmm...didn't know about the lume color being different, yeah so can i deduce that other than the size 01-92 (46mm) 03-92 (42mm) there essentially is no difference with the two?

There are actually a number of differences. Yes, the lume on the BR03 is blue while the lume on the BR01 is green. The BR01 has removable lugs (while being fairly useless, it is cool that you could theoretically turn this watch into an actual timing instrument) while the BR03 doesn't. The BR01 has a screw down crown, the BR03 doesn't. The BR03 has a date window while the BR01 doesn't. The screws on the dial are also in a different position on the two.

I may sound stupid but the size is a big difference. A lot of people avoid BR03 down to size - but I've seen a lot of photos of people with BR01s who clearly should have bought BR03s!

Actually tried on the 01 and 02, and it's way too big for me...:-d
Being an asian dude i have pretty small wrists....so thats y i was considering the 03.

I was just wondering y there wasn't much mentioned on the 03, hence the reason for this thread. :-!

I think the focus is more on the 01 since its the original.. the 03 is a little more discreet.

Hi mincuss4,

I have the 03. It fits better than the 01 if you have a smaller wrist.

In addition I think the date is a plus to me.

Do not worry as both are eye catching:-!There are threads on the BR03 in the official BR forum if you are interested.

My only advice to you is to check the watch and the accessories properly. Make sure that the full accessories are present as it can be a pain in the neck searching for them later. Many people including myself has got items missing or wrong items provided.

cheers~

01 always takes the limelight, but I personally feel the 03 is a better sized watch. The distance between the strap and the case is less and lets face it - it's much better value for money!

To be honest what B&R would have been better doing would be to have done the 01 originally at 44mm doing away with the need for an 03. 46mm is too big for most people (despite them not thinking so...but check out photos on this forum where the BR01 clearly looks tooo big on some people's wrists). However people feel that the 42 is too much of a jump down....

Come on B&R do a 'Br01.5' - 44mm!!

Hi mincuss,

I got a 20% off. My other friend was quoted a similar discount.

Paying by cash gets you better discounts. If I remembered correctly paying by installment gets only 15%.

25% discount is rare.

Hope this helps.

cheers~

the lug size for both the BR 01 and BR 03 are 24mm (correct me if i'm wrong)
if that's the case are the straps interchangeable between the 2?
