RLT have produced another budget 24 hour. This is the best dial design yet in my opinion. The case is 37mm so won't be suitable for everyone.

Very nice John. I agree about the dial. Clean and simple, very easy to read at a glance.

That's a nice watch. But it has a Raketa mechanical 24 hr movement and it is £99 UKP.

I hadn't noticed that, thanks quoll, even better for the money then.

Yes, its hand-wound. If you wanted an automatic, you'd have to shell out more. All in all, a clean looking watch for the money.

Nice dial, but dang that small case! O|

I hope they make a version for us thick-wrist types who need a watch to be >40mm not to look silly.

Hi all... sorry to quibble but isn't 99GBP quite a lot for a watch with a Raketa movement when Raketa watches with very similar dials can be had for 25GBP or less?

i.e. shape and length of hands, size, colour, location of numerals, and the
making/printing i.e. sharpness of numerals, lume, etc.
I own a 24-hour RTL quartz watch which is similar for the numerals with
this one and I find them fair/poor. And far below the quality of Poljot for
instance.
This is only my personnal opinion, but because I am more a 24-hour watch addict
than a mechanical watch enthusiast, I would think the really much needed
breakthrough would be a Poljot traveller or an Aviator with a swiss quartz
movement : that would be the perfect 24-hour watch for me, again, my
opinion. It does exist 24-hour quartz watches and I own some for the sake of
the collection, but almost all of them seem to have been designed by people
who thought of designing something which has to be weird by all aspects
and not to be used to read time !
Thanks for reading my feelings and expectations !

Francis

I think the subject of 24 hour watches prompts people to think of the ideals. I like my Raketa because it has all 24 hours marked, not just the even hours or the odd hours. Also the 5 minute markers are clear, which is very important with a 24 hour dial. You need to look extra carefully to see which number the minute hand is on when there are no five minute markers, and that can take an extra vital second. Most of the 24 hour watches on offer are much less clear. Sorry that means Breitlings too! OK I would prefer if it was automatic, and I'd like a date feature too, but overall I like the watch and I prefer it to most others I have owned. I can't remember the price, but it was less than 30GBP (55USD). I did however modify it! I painted the soconds hand red with Humbrol Enamel because I was fed up of getting the minute hand and seconds hand mixed up when glancing quickly at the time!

Here is my watch! I might buy another of a different colour someday, as long as the hands are long enough... most of the Raketas with this dial have comically short hands.

Yes, I totally agree with you about the importance of these features for
24-hour watch ! And I agree too that a high price does not always
mean a better design !

Cheers,
