Congrats! Great Pics too! Beautiful Watch!
Glad to see my efforts were not wasted! I just had this good feeling you would like it based on the things you were asking about.
P.S. Just Curious, does the Balance Wheel have any markings on it, like SI? I would expect it not too, but I just have to ask, at some point they are going to implement their Silicon Hairsprings on their watches...
P.P.S. Is the date engraved into the date wheel, or painted? It looks like it is engraved in your pictures, which is a very nice detail...

Tomee,
wow!!! The hour vision, white face on bracelet was exactly the same watch I listed on OMEGAS I'D LIKE TO OWN thread. That thing is so beautiful! The bracelet is seriously unreal. Tried it on at the BH boutique and the sales rep had to pretty much rip it off my wrists. He was actually wearing it so that's what initially caught my eye. Congrats on the watch, and more importantly, the wedding.

daaaaaaamn! that is one classy looking piece. congratulations on that fine piece of understated elegance
now here comes the hard part... keeping it locked up in the box until the wedding!! (well, thats what happened to me and my Speedy Triple Cal... longest 4 months ever!)
great choice mate, great choice

Congrats
Love the white faced Hour Vision. The blue second hand is a great touch and love the movement. Unusual and striking watch. I remember one of our former members had one and could get over the accuracy. Also looks great on a strap
Also congrats on the wedding. My wife bought me a PO for my wedding (almost worth getting married just for that..... Just kidding dear)

thanks for the kind words guys... will try and take more closeup pics tonight.
P.S. Just Curious, does the Balance Wheel have any markings on it, like SI? I would expect it not too, but I just have to ask, at some point they are going to implement their Silicon Hairsprings on their watches...
dont know yet, as i fully wound and will have to see it stop so i can take a look, but it is a black colour, so im not sure whats its made from.
will need a crash course somewhere to find out more about the calibre 8500. (anyone got links?)
P.P.S. Is the date engraved into the date wheel, or painted? It looks like it is engraved in your pictures, which is a very nice detail...
no, its just a very thick paint
OzOmega: the Fiance said i can wear it once she receives the engagement ring :-! so its in the safe until then. doesnt stop me from opening the safe up and staring at it for a while :-p
Ferrari312t: i got to try on Teeritz's own personal PO :-d and i must say im contemplating offloading my speedy for one.
they just look awesome on the wrist

No need, I know it does not. I was just hoping to be surprised. Only the Hour Vision Perpetual Calendar has the Silicon spring, but I understand they intend to have that in all their watches, I was just jumping the gun... :D
Here is a good link with lots of info, on planned watches using the 8500 as a base, and info about the watch...

Great photos, tomee! I'm beginning to look at the Hour Visions a little more closely these days. And like I said yesterday, given that this watch houses the first in-house Omega movement in a long time, the Hour Visions will be a collectible piece in future years.
Enjoy it, thanks again for your custom, and congratulations to both you and Sandra on your engagement!

In the link I posted, they caution that it is not technically inhouse... They developed it, but pieces are made all over the Swatch Group, and then Omega assembles it... It was news to me...
Still an incredible movement all concerned.

as for accuracy
so far its losing -2 to -3 secs left overnight with the dial up

December 15th, 2008, 07:55
the accuracy in mine got better after 2 months.....try missing around with the positions you lay it at night......I leave mine crown down and it gains +2 a month...GREAT watch.....
