Just got a SuperOcean from 1999-2001 vintage, coral dial, ref A17340 with bracelet. In awesome shape with all papers and COSC certificate! This thing is sweet -- the bezel even ratchets tightly like it hasn't been turned much. Only a few light scratches on the bracelet and that's about it! Still seeing what kind of time it keeps -- it's gained about 1.5 sec in 8 hours so far.
Unfortunately, I lost my USB cord for my digital camera so i can't upload pictures right now :-X Will post them as soon as I can.
Eclipse is still in the "spa" in LA and won't be out until end of august. Gotta love the two month servicing process. It needed it, though.

Nice pickup flyby! Pics required. Don't tell me, the dog ate the usb cable :-).
Umm think about the background colour when you click off those first shots.

What background color do you recommend? And what kind of lighting? Every time I've taken pics of a watch I never do it justice.

Hi flyby,
That is a real $64 question. I would start of with the KISS principle. Go for a solid colour that contrasts but doesn't compete for the eye or washout the the beautiful coral/orange shade of the watch. Think of the constituent colours of orange..yellow and red. Pick one or the other or perhaps a shade of brown which has both present. Take a few and see how feel about the result.
If you think about camo shading the closer the shades the harder it is to see the elements as the colours bleed into each other to confuse the eye. Eventually at the right distance the eye will merge everything into one which is the aim of camouflage. It uses the brain to defeat itself.
Once your eye understands complement and contrast you can branch out to greater effect. Remember the camera is a player in this also. A pack of kids paper project multi colour sheets from the stationary shop costs like a dollar or two. Great for quick background changes that address the fundamentals. You can even wear the watch and do an on the spot comparison . Have fun!
PS.. lighting... best efforts to date use natural lighting from a window difused with photocopy paper or like material. Some have of course gone with artifical lights and there it gets difficult as standards vary from country to country. Suffice to say strong light produces much bling and should be avoided. Use the camera's exposure times to control saturation. Thats where a tripod is essential. You can't hand hold the camera and shoot watches unless you are after a wrist or yogi shot. Low light = longer exposure times.

this is really a poor excuse. you can go to any kinko's or what not and get the digital camera card burned to cd, or you could go out and just buy a new usb cable for $2 or you could get a multi card reader. there is absolutely no excuse for not having pictures uploaded at this point. for shame!!!!:rodekaart

Wifey wouldn't loan me the necessary $$ unfortunately. How is it she gets all her "stuff" and when it comes to watches I'm at the back of the bus? O| :-D
