Just got my Navitimer back after roughly 6 weeks away. As expected, it looks like a new watch but I'm not 100% satisfied with one aspect: when I took it into my dealer I specifically pointed out that there was a degree of freeplay with the minute hand - roughly a second - making it a little imprecise when setting the watch. This has not been rectified. What I am now asking forum members is (a) Is this freeplay normal and (b) if not, what would you advise me to do (probably take it back to the dealer?). I expect better service for £295 of my hard earned cash !
Incidentally, and perhaps I'm being ultracritical, but the watch was 12 hours out of sync when I got it back.

It's normal

The watch being out of sych when returned has nothing to do with Breitling, but with the time in transit.

The movement from shipping may not be enough to keep the watch wound for the whole trip.

OK, so if it's normal, why couldn't they have said ? If this is the case, when setting the time, which position should the minute hand be in if you know what I mean?

As regards the 12 hour diff, I thought that was the case - so it just means the dealer wasn't on the ball 100%

Thanks for your help

I think the trick is to line up the minute hand and then when you push the crown back in try not to move your finger otherwise as you push in it can turn the crown slightly thus moving the minute hand either way.
