Just curious as to people's preferred method of charging lume say, before you hit the sack, go outside at night, etc..
What kind of lights do you use and for how long? Lamp? Surefire torch? 30 seconds? 3 minutes?
I'd like to hear your various methods.
:thanks

I don't tend to deliberately charge the lume before going out but just for fun have often 'nuked' it with a UV torch. Charges it like nothing else but is relatively shortlived!

:thanksWell, no matter what watch I wear during the day or evening, the B-1 goes on before bedtime. I charge the lume about 30 seconds by holding the dial a couple of inches away from one of the three special 60W bulbs in the a bathroom lamp fixture. Works all night for me. Actually, even if there was no lume at all on the watch, it takes very, very little ambient light in the bedroom to read the time because of the reflectivity of the hands. Further, the backlighting for the digitals is always available as well as the two alarms. Most functional watch I've ever owned or hope to own. ;-) :-!

Well as it happens i have just charged my B1 whilst getting out the shower, on a similar bulb, to Rons, not the same one cos that would be in his shower ( before Rik comes up with his usual wit lol)

A quick blast under the bed side lamp is the only time i have purposely charged the lume, but it works very well. As Ron stated regarding his B1, the contrast between the white hands and dark dial make reading the time on the E relatively easy in poor light.
Once charged though, the lume lasts a long time.

Without a doubt the 21 led UV flashlight available on eBay will charge your watch to max lume in about 5 seconds. It is hard to believe until you try it. Best $5 I spent.

I keep my watch box under a small desk lamp, does the trick.

I've found a Surefire light for about 10 seconds does the trick for me. Failing that, a nice bright desklamp seems to suffice.

Strange.
I never thought anyone would do this......
The BB lasts all night (oooh err) with no special treatment.

For taking pictures and on my nightstand next to my watch winder I use a handmade McGizmo LunaSol 20 Titanium LED light... sapphire window and tritium switch...
Your watch has a sapphire... why shouldn't your flashlight ;-)

Here's mine... of course the picture is not half as good... I have a nice sharkskin holster for it but the picture has a knife in it so I didn't post per the house rules.

Don't need the lume. I usually have my eyes closed at night.

I've managed to nail both her ears but at least now I can snore without bothering her... :-d
