Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this.
I have been talking to my AD's and we were discussing setting up some sort of Unofficial UK Owners Club to give back to the people loyal to the Brand.
Between us we have come up with some ideas of what could be offered but would like to know what you would all value.
NOTE this is not in any way a paid for service i.e. it would be a free valued added dealer service and I am not paid or employed by the AD
So the question is, what would you all want to see that would make an owners club useful to you?
This is about more than just discounts it’s about value added.
It would be primarily focused on UK members in that anything organised event wise would be here but it would be open to anyone interested and a lot of the benefits would be useful to all and not just the UK folk.
It really is a straw man right now so please feel free to post up whatever you would get long term value from.
So id be really grateful if you could do 2 things
1. Let me know if you would interested in joining something like this (want to get an idea ok UK members numbers so if you can list if you are UK based, if you dont list ill assume overseas)
2. regardless of where you are based please suggest what you would value in a Club like this.
ill try to capture all the interesed UK and non UK members seperatley.
i know it may be hard to register an interest when you dont know the benefits so here is some ideas bare in mind these are only being thrown about at this point and are not decided.
VIP access to the Breitling Tent at airshows, this would give additional perks to those you are already entitled to (ie you already get free access).
Enhancing Servicing (definition later)

Cheers for your input

Sounds cool Alex, although I'm not sure if I'm the 'target audience', I'm happy with my B-1 and, despite Lou's best efforts, services are likely to be the only revenue stream for an AD from me for a while.
However, I would happily be in an Owners Club and the chance to buy the stuff our colonial cousins get for nought () would tempt me in, as would a different coloured lanyard at an airshow tent!! (I'm so easily impressed!)
I'd always thought Breitling were missing a trick not having a small and exclusive merchandise range myself.
As we're all likely to have at least a passing interest in aviation what about trips out - for example, is there a Breitling sponsored plane in the Red Bull air races? Or a look round the Bentley factory?*
Could we have a song?
What about a password? A special handshake?
I'll leave now!!!
(Sorry, can't be serious too long, I start to tremble!)
Rik
(Spacer: Are we back to the 'don't want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member' again?! :-d)
*edit - not free trips, I wouldn't mind paying, but perhaps a club would have better 'access' to things like this?

Alex
Sound like a good idea on the face of it. (no pun intended)
Discounts would be great, but as some others are saying, access to the Goodies that we see those across the pond getting for nowt. Unless you are spending huge amounts us mortals are lucky to get a hat from the AD let alone Christmas chocs., pen knifes etc.etc.
Info on trade-ins from the AD's who deal in second hand. So many second hand watches come out of dealers who are not authorised by Breitling without boxes, paperwork etc. For example I'm looking for a particular watch and I have only recently found out from BUK who the dealers are who deal in traded-in Breitlings.
Unfortunately the Breitling tent doesn't get as far north as Leuchars, so VIP access to the tent wouldn't do much for me.
Count me in Alex.

There has got to be a Scotsmen joke in here somewhere, Gav, but I'll let it alone as I am one. (Scot, not joke) :-d:-d

cool guys ill run through and add all the names later
the address some of the questions there would def be a benefit to all falling in to one or more of the groups below
1. Buy 1+ new a year
2. Previously bought from the AD backing this
3. Are existing owners who wont buy more but go to events that breitling support
4. Need servicing
5. buy Shand and are looking for rare older or discontinued pieces
6. Collect or want limited edition pieces
7. want to get in on a potential group buy to save a bit more on the cost
etc
some of these are not confirmed but basically it means it doesnt matter where youu like or to a degree if you have 1 or 10 watches just that you love the brand, and yes the access might differ depending on that but everyone will still benefit.

Hi Alex,
Whilst i don't know yet what i would like to see as benefits from an owners club (will give this some serious thought) i would definately join an owners club.
The obviouse choice would be discount on purchasing and servicing but i would be interested in other things like monthly news letter perhaps with the latest info from Breitling like price increases/new models/updated models etc.
I would also be prepered to pay a small subscition fee.
What do the other members think
Regards

Dear all,
I am really pleased to announce the formation of a club for Breitling owners the world over.
The Andrew Michaels Owner Club "AM Owners Club" for short is being backed by one of the UK's most respected and highly regarded AD's.
Andrew is linked closely with Breitling UK, organising and operating hospitality in conjunction with BUK at the UK's 3 main air shows, as well as this Andrew is the leading AD for UK military limited editions. no doubt many of you will have seen his work.
The first thing you may have noticed is that we have not used the word Breitling in the title, we have done this specifically, as if Breitling ever wish to form an owners club we don’t want to hinder it.
In regards to prerequisites all need to do next is send Andrew your details in an email to the address below, he will need your watchuseek username, Full Real name, address and contact number as well as an email address if different from the one you email from.
Please put "AMOC Details" in the subject field
All personal information will be held by the AD only he will have access to this so please don’t email me any of your personal details.
Members from all countries are welcome all will receive access to the same perks, if there is a specific model or models you are looking for please include details in your joining email, soon after formation a list of NOS and s/hand pieces will be made available to all members.
As well as a an inventory for members there will be a WTB form you can fill in with specifics and you will be notified when a piece matching your criteria comes in.
Might make the hunt for that special piece easier.
We will then be sending out confirmation and a unique membership number to all those who register.
Enquiries at andrewmichaels.co.uk replace the at with @
http://www.andrewmichaels.co.uk/ (http://www.andrewmichaels.co.uk/)
I will be acting as forum contact for the club, as I am sure you are all aware this will be in my spare time, so please be patient with requests etc that you put through the forum.
There were some really great ideas that came up while discussing this on and off the boards such as servicing, second hand and rare NOS sales, merchandise, raffles, calendars, air shows, group buys, limited editions, insurance valuations etc, we will try and do as much as possible and hopefully facilitate everyone getting access to something they find of value to them.
Finally id like to say thank you, to Andrew Michaels for backing this idea, putting resources, time and his name behind this and most importantly all of you (us) that buy and wear the watches.
Hopefully you’ll all still be thinking this is a good move for a long time to come.
Thanks again for your interest
Alex
