Why? Chinese New Year was last Sunday.

edit: not saying in any way that I think you are not telling the truth, just curious.

without regard to the specifics of the situation, I will say that most Christmas holidays run longer than the one day. This may be the Chinese analogue.

actually, the chinese new year 2560 was on monday, feb. the 26th, the year of the ox has begun. and usually most of chinese people/companies/factories are having long holidays to celebrate it. i.e, our company's facilities (paper manufacturer) in china are closed till early feb.

There are fifteen days of formal festivities which mark the Chinese New Year. Moreover, about a 40-day period around the New Year is often allowed for migrant workers within China, as well as those overseas, to return home to have reunion dinners. BTW, buying a clock during this time, especially as a gift, is considered bad luck because it signifies that one's life is limited or at "the end".

fellas, you're guests on the prometheus watch forum. have some respect for the chinese holiday, regardless of when you feel it should have started. crap, find something else to complain about. hey. gotta a great idea. go over to other offical forums that have watches made in europe and call them all out because they shut down for a month every year.:-d

you have respect for your own countries holidays, have respect for chinas. I believe they were having holidays about 500 years before the rest of the world discovered language.b-) and manners.:thanks

Trust us, we're as eager (if not more so) as all of you to see the Ocean Diver be ready for production and shipping. The Chinese holiday does put a slight delay in things this time of year, but it's a national holiday and one that we were fully aware of and have great respect for.

There were quite a few improvements that Carlos and I wanted to make to the OD based on the prototypes we received - one big one was the upgraded movement. These things take time to retool and remake and change. The manufacturer has been fantastic at working through all of the updates with us and is also very eager to have the OD ready for sale.

Carlos is enjoying some vacation time himself right now, but as soon as he comes back we'll get an update on the OD progress and a better idea of when we can expect to start shipping it.

As the original designer of the watch I bet money that I am more eager than ANYONE to see a final production version... but all in good time!
