I cannot begin to think where to put this one. Been away a while good to be back full time. Actually just arrived today, an electromechanical, er, portable clock radio

Enjoy!

Any dating? It is solid state so late 50s or newer.

The passed sticker is something I have not seen for quite a while. If I remember correctly, there was an industry standard group for Japanese timepieces similar to the one for camera lenses. Timepieces would get a passed sticker to assist in export sales. I suspect that ended in the 60s or 70s.

(My problem with portable alarm clocks was they would last about two or three trips then I would forget it in the rush of travel. So I took to buying really cheap ones and spray painted them florescent pink... That cut the loss rate in half :-) )

Hi,

No, no dating anywhere that I have found yet. Its a big bugger yet was portable :)

Its a Seiki. Had to play with the exposure to get the name to pop out bit yellow but got the name anyway! Just a cool piece though.

The mech alarm rings first and if on auto then the radio will come on

Interesting. Haramachi Seiki or Haramachi Precision Instrument Co. Ltd. seemed like it was a large company. I take it Seiki manufactured some parts for Seiko at least what I can find on it

What a very cool item.
I cannot imagine a more interesteting travel clock.
Congrats, a super find.

BTW: I read somewhere that Rensie is Eisner spelled backwards.
Eisner was the founder of the company.

Peace,
Scott
