I really couldn't tell you whether its aluminum or SS.

aluminium, I'd suppose. The 156' bezel is made of aluminium.

Anodized aluminum would be my guess as well.

I would suspect that is a good guess. The bezel on the new Sinn 103 A Sa Hd as an anodized aluminum insert. It looks sweet! :-!
