Anyone else collecting the first FL quartz as co-developed with GP. I have two and they are huge 70s style, but still running flawlessly.

JLC was in the consortium too. I believe GP did the actual manufacturing.

These were the first quartz watches to use a stepping motor to drive the gear train for the hands. So they are the grandfathers of all modern analog quartz watches. (Before this folks used vibrating tines of tuning forks to drive a micro notched wheel. After this everybody used stepping motors.)

I have several GPs... most look like this one:

This one has since had the crystal replaced and a new bracelet attached (the old one was original but past its service life).

But this is my favorite:

The bracelet is original and in good condition. I do not believe FL used this encasement.

... But, I can't just show GPs in a FL forum, so here is one my classic FLs:

Thanks for sharing those beautiful GPs. The FLs both have the frequency on the dial which I guess was a big deal at the time. As with the GPs they are MUCH larger than modern quartz, but when someone asks how long quartz watches last........
