Can you help me ID this IWC?

Can someone help me find information about this watch? My father gave it to me as a graduation present in 2000. He bought it from a German watchmaker in the mid 1970's. I am a complete novice in regards to watches, so any information would be much appreciated.

It is a classic IWC... the 60/70s sounds right. More could be said if you could picture the movement.
