Hi. I'm new to WUS, but have had the watch "bug" for about three years. I've been through a bunch of them and have had a steep learning curve, but have recently scaled back to only five - 2 Omegas, 1 Lucien Piccard my wife gave me when we got married, my grandfather's 1967 Hamilton, and Swiss-driven diver I assembled myself (a very proud WIS moment ;-)).
I thought you might like some pics of the Omegas.
Thanks for looking,
Jeff
My favorite of all time:

Awesome Omega collection and great pics.:-!
My next one is the 42mm PO black and white.
It's nice to hear that it's your fav.

Don't often see blue Speedys on here, 99% black. Nice. You'd be hard pushed to find a bad picture of the PO on here, except when I take one of mine, obviously

Love the Planet Ocean, I am debating between the Planet Ocean you have and the QOS one...ugh....

Glad you approve!
Interesting that the Blue Speedy has received the praise so far, as I kinda feel it's the lesser of the two (not co-axial, not the Professional, etc), but I do love it.

That's because blues are not often seen on here, and the PO, no matter how beautiful, is seen on here quite regularly..

I'm new here and decided to register as I've decided now is the time to pick up a new watch. I've just started looking at the new Speedy's and need to find some time to go try one on. I had assumed that if I chose to go with the Speedy I'd get a black one, but that blue one is giving me second thoughts for sure. Beautiful watch.
I have a SMP but I've never looked too hard at Speedy's until recently. Anyone have any advice for those of us seriously looking at Speedy's for the first time?

Thanks for the compliment.
Probably the best place to start your homework is Omega's own site. Note that the models vary greatly:
Movements - based on Lemania (hand wound), Valjoux, or ETA (with or without the Co-Axial escapement)
Water Resistance - 30M to 100M
Size - 38mm to 44mm
Case - Stainless, Titanium, Gold
Caseback - solid or display-back
Crystal - Hesalite to Sapphire
My Speedmaster Date is 40mm, has 100M water resistance and a sapphire crystal, and the movement (cal. 1164) is a chronometer version of a Valjoux 7750.
Hope that helps,
Jeff

Hey SolitarySoul - welcome to WUS forum. Awesome watches!!!
Do you also have a picture of the swiss driven diver that you assembled yourself? I don't know about the others but I would love to see a pic of that too!

Thanks for the welcome guys - glad you like my collection, albeit small.
Bart - I hesitate to post these pics as there's a new white dial in the works for it (as shown above, I now have a better blue dial watch :-d), but I'll post a whole new thread when that makeover is complete...

I admit that I've never really liked the Speemaster, based upon looks alone. However, I never noticed the blue version. I might change my mind based upon the blue option.

Eh, mine's nothing special, other than my wife gave it to me when we got married and it is solid 14K gold. How I wish I had known something about watches when I picked it out way back then...
